Forward Church Sermons

“Within ten days George Washington Carver had “discovered” more than 300 uses for the peanut. One trip to that special place in the woods to talk with God not only enhanced race relations at the time but also fundamentally changed the agricultural industry as we know it today. All because he listened to and felt the spirit of God in his life.” (Andy Andrews) God’s response made sense to Carver bec...

All things are possible for those who believe. You don’t believe with your brain, you believe with your hearts (Romans 10:10). Your heart or inner man is paramount in experiencing God in this life. God wants you to increase the capacity of your heart to trust him so he can move through you in greater ways and see his will come to pass. The more confident you are in his character and his word, the...

God wants you to personally thrive and prosper so you enjoy the benefits of being his child and so you can be a blessing to others. God wants the organized church to thrive and prosper so it can effectively meet the needs of the Lord’s people as well as spread the Gospel. This means we need to talk about money. https://www.clintbyars.com/blog/2019/8/12/being-made-rich-through-generosity

You can trust your decisions and walk in confidence. You don’t have to second guess everything or stress yourself out if you’re walking in the will of God. God is not withholding wisdom and instruction from you, he freely gives them to all who will listen. What it does it take to have your ear tuned to his voice? What does it take for your heart to be receptive to his leading? Walking upright, wit...

We must guard our hearts against lies, no matter how irrational the fear may seem. We must take great precaution to protect our minds and hearts against the things that can plant seeds of death in our hearts. AND we must be intentional to plant the kinds of seeds that will protect us and guard our hearts. We must plant seeds from God’s Word that resonate His truth throughout our entire being. http...

I am pleased to introduce to you my friend Sebastian Mathews. Sebastian and his family began attending Forward Church in January 2019. They were familiar with grace and the New Covenant message but they did not know how to actuate grace. After a series of frustrations and a devastating loss, they discovered not only the freedom of grace but the power of grace. God’s influence in our hearts is not...

HAVE YOU EVER ABSTAINED FROM COMMUNION IN CHURCH BECAUSE YOU SINNED THAT WEEK AND YOU WERE AFRAID SOMETHING BAD MIGHT HAPPEN? KEEP READING, I’M ABOUT TO SET YOU FREE. Toxic Christianity encourages self-examination that keeps you bound by guilt and shame. Toxic self-examination is rooted in a legalistic...

Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve. — Max Planck - Nobel Prize in Physics winner, Originator of Quantum Theory I like to understand things from a scientific perspective, even spiritual things. I think we can apply the rules of science to matters of the spirit, we just hav...

You are not evolving spiritually, you are complete in Christ. In this message, we discuss the gifts of knowledge, wisdom and prophecy from the perspective of the finished work of Jesus and your completeness in Him. https://www.clintbyars.com/blog/2019/6/24/spiritual-evolution

God is building His church in the earth today. His church is also known as the Body of Christ. Every single Jesus follower has an assignment within God’s church or Christ’s body, including you. Some roles are formal ministry while other roles may not even be recognized by the traditional church. I want you to know that you are important, you belong and God has an assignment for you that brings Him...

WOULD YOU LIKE A FORMULA TO DEVELOP GREAT FAITH? THE KIND OF FAITH SEES THE MANIFESTATION OF EVERYTHING YOU ASK FOR? The truth is, there is no formula, but there are some necessary ingredients to great faith. #1 key ingredient to developing great faith is to live a life where your heart doesn’t condemn you. #2 is to keep Christ’s commandments. #3 is to ACT on that commandment to love people. Befor...

God’s promises that are available in Christ are various and plentiful, touching on just about every aspect of life. He makes promises for salvation, provision, guidance, peace, health, and much more. All believers believe that God can heal. All Jesus followers agree that Jesus healed people. But we disagree on whether God always wants everyone fully healed. Have you prayed for multiple and seen so...

Prayer changes things. Prayer changes you and your world around you, but it doesn’t change God. Prayer doesn’t cause God to respond and give you what you want or need, he’s already done that. God doesn’t have anything else to give to you. The only thing God has left to give you is wisdom, revelation and guidance on how to live within everything he’s already given you. In fact, he gave you his spir...

You have two sets of eyes, the ones in your head and the ones in your heart. The eyes in your head help you see the outer world while the eyes of your heart help you see God. However, the eyes of your heart can also look at your outer world. The obvious goal is to keep the eyes of your heart focused on God. This is walking by faith, this is how you look not at the world, this is how you set your h...

Is God evil? Does God do evil? I’m sure you would answer “no” to both questions. Now let me ask you this question… Is God in control? Your answer may change. One more question… Is God controlling everything? Your answer should be the same answer to “is God in control?” God being in “control” means he’s controlling everything. I want you to think through what you believe about God’s sovereignty and...

Toxic religion burns you out, it causes you to always feel incomplete like you’ll never be enough. The truth is you are complete in Christ, you are fully accepted in Christ already!! Jesus beautifully articulates God’s heart toward you in these passages. Jesus assures you that he’s not seeking to condemn you, he’s offering rest and guidance. Toxic religion says that God is allowing your life to be...

Lack is at the root of addiction. Feeling like something is missing and trying to fill that gap with toxic substances or behaviors is the engine for addiction. We see that same cycle in religion. Religion is the king of causing you to feel like something is missing. Under religion, you’re never good enough and you can never do enough to keep God happy. Most people never say it this clearly but the...

You would never say self-righteous things like, “I was really good today, now God owes me a blessing.” Or, “I didn’t sin this week so now I’m more righteous.” You would never say those things because you know your righteousness isn’t a result of your behavior, it’s a gift from God through faith in the finished work of Christ. But you might say, “I wonder what God is doing” when you have a flat tir...

Jesus used nature to teach us how his realm of sovereignty works. He taught us that God’s Kingdom is within and it works like a seed or yeast. God’s Kingdom is within us because His spirit is within us, God’s essence of life within us, and the presence holds within it everything that God is in seed form. God is sovereign, he is all powerful but he’s currently exercising that authority in the earth...

God is actively speaking to us, leading us and revealing his will and character to us as he further establishes his Kingdom in the earth. Ultimately he is bringing all things together in Heaven and Earth together in Christ. Praise be to His glorious name forevermore! https://www.clintbyars.com/blog/2019/3/18/gods-indwelling-kingdom-affects-the-world-through-you

Living in God’s Kingdom starts with repentance, or changing your mind. Jesus said the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the good news that the kingdom is at hand. He went on to say several things about the kingdom. https://www.clintbyars.com/blog/2019/3/11/revelation-how-to-receive-and-apply-consistent-wisdom-from-god
