His story begins with him boasting of dreams which only fuel resentment among his brothers. When Joseph is sent by his father to check on them, they see to it he never returns. Little do they know, God has big plans for Joseph.

Trouble starts soon after their arrival. His daughter is violated. Her brothers retaliate. It's a gritty story yet there are lessons to be learned.

I. Our God is a Blessing God; vs.1-5 II. There's No Substitute for Love; vs.6-9 III. Our God is Faithful; vs.10-22 Jacob runs off to escape death. The Lord meets up with him and pronounces the blessing upon him.

A Truce is Called; vs.26-35   Isaac repeats mistakes made by his father Abraham. Even still, the Lord blessed Isaac, so much so it became obvious to those around him.

The Birthright Traded for Stew; vs.29-34   Abraham remarries. A few kids later, he passes away. Isaac and Rebekah give birth to twins. They're at odds from the start.

A CHILD LIKE NO OTHER Luke 2:22-35   I. Christ Presented; vs.22-26 II. Christ Praised; vs. 27-33 III. Christ Pierced; vs.34-35   Baby Jesus is brought to the temple where He is prayed over and prophesied over.

IN SEARCH OF A BRIDE Genesis 24:1-28   I. A Servant Takes an Oath; vs.1-9 II. A Servant on a Mission; vs.10-25 III. A Servant Bows to God; vs.26-28   A servant is sent to find a bride for Abraham's son Isaac. The Lord goes before him and gives him great favor in his mission.  

BOUGHT WITH A PRICE Genesis 23:1-20   I. Look to Sarah; vs:1-2 II. A Place for Sarah; vs.3-16 III. A Burial for Sarah; vs.17-20   Sarah passes away. Abraham purchases a place where she can rest in peace. His business dealings with the world offer a good example for all believers. They also serve as a reminder of how God paid a price so we could rest in peace.
