While Jesus invites us to rest in the middle of our activity he also invites us to regular, concentrated and deliberate rest away from our normal activity.

Jesus invites all to come to Him and if we will respond to His invitation He promises to give us something we desperately need.

The question we are going to look at in this series is, "How am I responding to Jesus?"

(Value #1: Biblical Authority) Putting into practice and adjusting your life to line up with what you have heard Jesus say and do is the foundation for surviving whatever storms hit your life.

(Value #5: Excellent Environments) Pushing through bad definitions of Jesus and church in search of what Jesus actually said and did.

(Value #3: Authentic Community) Authentic community, In order to be real and helpful, involves both being non-judgmental and from the right perspective and with the right attitude, judgmental.

Value #4: Gifted Service. We believe that working together, leveraging our spiritual gifts and abilities in a way that is consistent with the character of Jesus, we can accomplish the things that Jesus wants to accomplish in a way that is consistent with the way that Jesus would do them.

Jesus tells us that God knows everything that we need before we even ask Him. So if that's the case, what's the point of prayer?

A question that we must constantly ask is, "What is my motivation for doing what I am doing?" How one answers that question has more significance than what you might think.

Jesus sums up this whole section of his talk with the simple words, "Be perfect like God is perfect." What does that mean and is it really possible?

What happens on the outside is just a symptom or a progression of something that grew out of something broken on the inside. We have to do what we have to do, no matter how drastic, to address the real problem before it destroys everything.

Forgiveness is the decision to be free from the prison of the past.

Jesus makes it clear that it is possible to know that you are going to go to Heaven after you die but still live a "hellish" life between now and then unless you deal with the tough areas of anger and forgiveness.

Jesus didn't let go of any of what the Bible says, so if we want to be like Him, we have to hold onto everything He holds onto.

It is only out of the overflow of being at peace with God that we can truly pursue peace with others.

Once a person realizes what God has done FOR them, it leads to an outward demonstration of that changed heart.

Jesus teaches us that the way to inherit the good life is not through doing what we've been taught but becoming someone new.

Jesus says that everything starts by looking at the "empty" condition of your own "tank." Once you do, THEN, you can be filled.

Regardless of what happened in a person's life that left them paralyzed and trapped, Jesus asks one question: "Do you want something better?"

What would a person be willing to do so that someone that they love could get what they need so that they could be well? (Faith, Friendship, Come and See)

Because of what we've done and who we are many people think that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead is sufficient for everyone but them. When Jesus heals a man with leprosy he demonstrates that he came for the most "untouchable" people in the world.

Jesus changed everything on the cross and keeps on changing us from the inside out. (Faith, Forgiveness, Sin, Demons)

Today, Jesus heals a man's sick son which causes the man to become a believer. The question is, can we move beyond "seeing is believing" because things got better to "trusting is believing" in spite of whether things get better or not?

A time comes when everyone has to ask, "Am I going to keep doing what I was doing or do I want something better?"
