“Be warned,” James tells us about identifying as one with that type of character. For those who oppose God will find themselves in some extreme danger. We've covered the entire book of Hebrews and have look at how Jesus was always the greater, better and more reaffirming our hope in Him. So now that we have our understanding of God's provision in His son, now what? Chapter 13 lays out a Christ followers response.

The book of Hebrews is filled with blessings and warnings and chapter 12 reminds us that God is a consuming fire. We need to approach him with fear and love and as a result see our lives in light of the sacrifice of Jesus.

Jesus fulfilled all of the law and ultimately sacrificed his life for the sins of the people. Once and for all. The power of this sacrifice is what gives us hope and brings us into a right relationship with God and one another.

Under the Old Covenant, the nation of Israel had to continually offer up sacrifices for their sin. It was an unending, daunting task. During the establishment of the nation of Israel and the tabernacle, the nation had to continue to offer sacrifices through the Levitical priesthood. In this chapter, we will see how Jesus came to be the perfect, eternal high priest on our behalf.

The book of Hebrews is filled with warnings, what are we to make of these? Can we lose our salvation? Or should we be more focused on pursuing Christ?

All of ancient Israel was centered around the temple and priesthood. It's how God interacted with his people yet they could never fully fulfill all that was required. In Hebrews chapter 5 we see how Jesus fulfilled both aspects of the priesthood and why that's crucial for the life of the believer.

Israel failed to enter into rest because of their unbelief, however Jesus obeyed God perfectly. Therefore He accomplished our rest, all we have to do is believe. 

All of Israel looked to their greatest prophet in order to love and follow God, but ultimately failed in doing so. Today we look at the promise of someone greater than Moses, namely Jesus and how His life and work was greater than any before or after.

Many times, drifting away takes place over a long period of time. Sort of how the ocean can drag swimmer's down the coast line. What does the author of Hebrews have to show us about this drifting and how can we avoid it?

As we start in the book of Hebrews, we learn that from the start the author wants to establish the Son as the heir to the Kingdom. Far superior than prophets and angels. So what does that mean? It's all about the Son.

What is the greatest commandment given by Jesus? To love God first and love one another. But how are we supposed to live this out? There is no greater way to express our love for Christ than to love others more than self.

Who is my neighbor? An honest question asked by a religious leader, but Jesus' answer would be shocking. As Christ followers, we must love our neighbors. 

You mean I have to actually love my brother or sister?! What does the Bible say about who and how we love one another?

A part of following Jesus is loving one another. But what does the Bible say about how we love our children? What is the parents role in the lives of their children?
