God is always sovereign and always working out His plan, even when circumstances are unjust and unrighteous, but the one who fears Him will be at peace.

You can't control what happens, but you can control your response. In Ecclesiastes 3, we see that submitting to God and His timing gives meaning to everything.

Sometimes we wonder if there is a purpose for life? God gives His answer in Ecclesiastes 3.

Psalm 135 gives a call to praise, shows the causes for praise and a call for blessings.

What does it mean that there is a time for everything? We look at the beginning of Ecclesiastes 3 for that answer.

No matter how much we accomplish by our work, without God at the center of it, we will wind up hating it.

Even though a life of pursuing good is better than a life of folly, without God at the center of your life, you will end up empty and in pain.

As we continue to prepare for Christmas, we can also follow the example of the wise men that came to worship the King.

As we prepare for Christmas, it helps to look at the attitude Christ had when he came to be our example.

Solomon was able to pursue any pleasure that there was: possessions , food, drink, etc. None of them satisfy.

How should we, as Christians, respond in these difficult times? Philippians 4:4 tells us to "rejoice always." So, for Thanksgiving week, we look at all the things God has given us to rejoice about.

Ecclesiastes 1-2 lists some of our struggles in life and shows us that, without God, they are meaningless.

Solomon was the wisest man in history, and also the author of Ecclesiastes, that says all is vanity. I Kings gives us a clue about how someone that has everything, including wisdom can end up in despair.

In these troubling, messed up times, it is especially good to stop and ask, Can we make sense out of life?

Today, we start our series on Ecclesiastes, asking the question, Can we make sense out of life?
