Film Fights
Film Fights is a comedy movie review podcast in which two films go head to head in a battle of genre, style, and wit. It's up to hosts Jono and Konrad to wade through each movie's shortcomings and/or glory through mucking about and radical tangents to declare a new champion for each battle. And like most competitor sports, there is drinking, yelling, and sometimes blood.

#008: Miracle On 34th Street vs. The Santa Clause 14.12.2020 1:32:34
It’s a battle of the Santa Clauses’ss as we are joined by special guest Leslie Hartman to determine who pulled off the jolly Saint Nick the best. Is Tim Allen’s Home Improvement’s Tim “The Toolman” Taylor’s signature grunt enough to beat out Richard Attenborough’s Jurassic Park’s John Hammond’s classic disregard for his grandchildren’s safety- what was I talking about? Intro/Outro theme by Math t...
Holiday Bonus #1: Fatman 08.12.2020 38:54
Weighing in at the last minute is one more “strongman” actor to defend his bad decisions streak with this year’s Fatman, already guaranteed to be a Christmas Classic! The first holiday bonus kicks off our new mini episode structure - short and completely irreverent. Irrelevant? Yea, that too! PLUS! A very special guest unexpectedly joins us at the last minute! Tangents include Cat Juggling, Ti...
#007 - Santa With Muscles vs. Jingle All the Way 05.12.2020 1:23:46
UPGRADED MICS!! Santa came early with the gift of better sound for Future Jono while Konrad and Present(?) Jono received the gift of judging the very specific sub genre of strongman-turned-actor Christmas movies. Will it be a TurboMan Parade that sweeps this match or shall the spoils go to whatever it was Hulk Hogan was trying to do in that movie? What the heck even was his character? Santa? T...
Palate Cleanser: Kung Fu Hustle 28.11.2020 38:36
After last week’s horror show, your resident Film Fighters sat down to a Palate Cleanser to lighten things up. Roger Ebert says “Imagine a film in which Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny.” Well put, sir. Refreshing and satisfying. Music by Math the Band. “I Are Minds” interlude music by Monster Rally. Drinks by Alcohol.
#006: Ichi the Killer vs. Oldboy 21.11.2020 1:30:11
Keeping it classy with some classic Asian Cinema by way of ever heightening violence of the insane variety. We watch two very different characters walk the same thin line between a harrowing investigation and general life goals. Both experience separation tonguxiety. Does that track? It’s a portmanteau of Separation Anxiety and tongue. It’s not clever at all, but I’m trying to make the best o...
Memory Lame: The Frighteners 14.11.2020 45:42
Hey hey! It’s a new segment called Memory Lame, where we discuss an older movie - particularly one we haven’t seen in a decade or more - to decide if it is a trip down Memory LANE or Memory LAME! Which will be changed by the end? The movie or our memories? Tune in to find out! Music by Math the Band. Beer by Real Ale Moon Walk IPA.
#005: House (1986) vs. House On Haunted Hill (1999) 06.11.2020 1:34:05
Oh. It’s still Halloween? It is now! Our FINAL FIGHT of spooky films for yesterweek ends with a battle of Haunted Houses. House is about a house that is haunted, but perhaps it is Roger Cobb (William Katt) who is haunted. House On Haunted Hill is about a house that is actually a mental asylum(?) for the criminally insane(?) and also a house(?) that is haunted(?), but perhaps it is the screenw...
Mini #02: Top 10 Monsters 31.10.2020 1:00:48
M-m-m-monsters!? Halloween continues with our brand new mini episode, which is not very short at all, defeating the whole reason it’s called a mini. We clearly had a ball counting down our favorite movie monsters, so join us for a spooky reminisce, some blood-curdling drinks, and a few ghastly disagreements. Music by Math the Band. Tequila by ArteNOM Selección de 1549.
#004: Monster Squad vs. Freaked 24.10.2020 1:16:53
It's Halloween time, lovely spectators, and why not start things off with a monsters vs freaks battle? 1987's Monster Squad is the ultimate answer to "What if The Goonies met the Universal Monsters?" and "What if Wolfman had nards?" 1993's Freaked is Alex Winter's demented dark comic feature follow-up to the short lived nearly forgotten MTV series, The Idi...
