There is no description that really fits this passage of Genesis...the bottom line is that God's grace is always greater than our sin. God had a plan for this family, and He would see it through no matter what mess they caused.

If the Lord disciplines those whom He loves, then He must really love Jacob. Jacob received his family's blessing by deceiving his father, and now he's deceived in the bedroom. We must learn to do life as a divine duet and not a solo performance.

Hispanic Minister, Michael Hook, walks us through Genesis 28. Jacob encounters God in a dream, realizing that God is real and beside Him at all times.

In the mess of Isaac's family dysfunction, the seed of the Genesis 3:15 head-crusher is preserved. God's grace shows up in the most sinful of places. Jacob and Esau fight over the birthright and blessing of their father.

Genesis 24 – the one where Abraham gets Isaac a wife. God's plan keeps moving forward, in and around the prayers of His people. See how God passes down the baton of faith from Sarah to Rebekah.

When Hagar and her son, Ishmael, are kicked out of Abraham's quarters, they begin to lose faith that God is with them. But it's under a bush in the desert of Beersheba where they encounter God's provision and grace. We are praying for you!

Abraham is a liar. His lies provide enough reason for God to dismiss and judge him, but that's not what happens. Abraham lies about his wife, Sarah, again and again, but God uses a pagan king to show His grace. We are saved by grace through faith.

Abraham decides to help his nephew out, but he's smart about it. On the journey, he meets a king-priest named Melchizedek, and his faith is credited to him as righteousness. There's a lot going on, but let's continue walking through Genesis 14 and 15.

We know Abraham as the forefather of Christianity, but what happened before he demonstrated his faith for God? Surely he had an easy life and everything went his way? Not so fast. Genesis 12-13 teach us some important background on Abraham.

Death is an inescapable fact of life. Death takes everyone, and it even took Jesus. But three days, Jesus rose from the dead, conquering it once and for all. Jesus' resurrection gives hope to believers that death is not the end but only a passageway into eternal life.

In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve ruin the perfect world God created with their misunderstanding and misquoting of God's Word. The serpent deceives them, and they hand over the keys to the kingdom of this world. What does this mean for us today?

God created humanity to work, and to help him with the work, God made woman out of his side. Everything is good and right in the world, peaking with the creation and marriage of Adam and Eve.

God's creation shows us not just what He made but how He made it. He saved His best creation for last. You are God's masterpiece!
