The final vision God gave to Daniel is so long and complex that it stretches over three chapters, 10-12. The reason it is so hard to understand is because most of us have such a poor understanding of world history. Anyone who studies this era of history will stand in awe of how amazingly precise Daniel 11 is.

Daniel 10 illustrates that, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of the dark world, and against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms.” Eph. 6:12

Daniel 9 has two parts. The first 19 verses record Daniel’s prayer in light of the prophecy of Jeremiah. Daniel’s inspirational prayer demonstrates the appropriate response to the truth of God’s word.

Daniel 8 has an interpretation of the vision, given to Daniel by the angel Gabriel, the first time he makes an appearance in scripture.

In chapter two of Daniel we gain some valuable insight in how to deal with circumstances beyond our control. Daniel demonstrates a wise response for those who are powerless in the presence of an enemy, seen or unseen.

This book of Daniel is about a conflict of kingdoms – the kingdom of man and the kingdom of God. In the first chapter we encounter God’s grace in the repeated phrase, “God gives...” 2, 9, 17. Each occurrence gives us some important insight about our God who is supreme over all other gods.

So what should I do to be kingdom-focused? Just walk the W-A-L-K. Present your body to God as a living sacrifice. Abide in the truth – seek it, settle it, soak in it. Learn to love those who are on your team. Never forget that Jesus came to this earth to defeat the enemy of our souls so that we might live forever in God’s glorious kingdom prepared for us from eternity past.

Jesus said, “By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” For a lot of people the Bible is hard to understand. What is not hard to understand is the Cliff Notes summary Jesus gave when He summed up the message of the whole Law and the prophetic books by saying, “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as you love yourself.” The Great Commandment is pretty simple....

The word “disciple or disciples” is used about 250 times in the New Testament. Usually it is a reference to the twelve men who became the apostles upon whom the church was founded. But if you limit your search to the gospels and then narrow it further to the words of Jesus, you discover that Jesus made four definitive statements about disciples.
