Pastor Gloire from upper room church came to share a testimony about healing. He brought Emma, who has experienced a miraculous healing from the Lord in his church during a time of worship. Matt from Solid Rock came to share with the kids a message titled "Mid-Faith Crisis" about the doubts that are common for Christians to face and the wisdom involved in dealing with them.

This week for chapel, I kicked off the year with my expectations for the school year and then spoke about the different postures of belief that are displayed in scripture and sometimes in us. It might have been the best message ever preached, we'll never know, because the recorder didn't catch all of it. So here is take 2, recorded from home.

Our school community is studying through the New Testament, Mr. Cowhick and Mr. Shaw are hanging out and talking about their favorite parts of the readings. If you're reading through the New Testament also, we hope the mad ravings and astute observations from these two guys are beneficial for your study as well.

Hailey shared a great message from the Word and from experience about what to do if you feel abandoned by God, and she shared some really great and biblical tips for that type of depression and anxiety.

Addison took us to scripture to give a great talk about the value of living in the present, and the anxieties of waiting for the future.

Jerome Bushnell came all the way from Shelby to speak to our middle school and high school about trauma and the wisdom found in laughter.

Kimber shared from Psalm 23 about the good shepherd. I apologize about the audio on this one, something happened to the recording and I salvaged what I could.

Trinity shared with the school a message about overcoming fear, she spoke from the story of Gideon and also shared her about her own testimony of her challenges with fear.

Gary Mayer came to speak to us from Ephesians 1 about our calling as Christians, how that calling is not performance driven. The Lord has adopted us into His family.

Mr. Shaw shared a message about Jonah, the man who knew God but did not follow Him, and shared about how God accomplishes His will no matter how we respond to it.

Damian Shaw shared from 1 Kings 16-18 about the Israelites who were greatly sinning in their idolatry, and Elijah who saved epically saved them. But also we talked about how everyone worships something. There is no neutrality. Jerod Prettyman came back to Foothills to speak for our chapel, and he shared a great message, starting in Isaiah 53, about what it means to see the worthiness of Jesus, and the worthiness of our own calling in Him as well.
