Fastened To The Rock

Seventy times seven is a call to reflect the heart of God. The Lord’s mercy is abundant, continual, and gracious. As recipients of that mercy, Christians must extend the same spirit toward others.

As temperatures rise, and men and women begin to wear less clothing, the question often arises, “What does modesty look like for the Christian?” Modesty isn’t just about clothing measurements or cultural trends, it’s about humility, self-respect, and a heart that seeks to honor God.

The apostle Peter wrote, in 1 Peter 3:15, “Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.” Opportunities to speak about Christ can arise at any moment. The question is simple: Are you ready?

In a world filled with harsh words, misunderstandings, and sometimes outright slander, it’s not always easy to do the right thing. Scripture, though, consistently calls God’s people to take the high road - to pursue righteousness and integrity when others do not.

The soul requires attention just like the body requires nourishment, exercise, and care to remain healthy. In a world consumed with outward appearance and temporary concerns, Christians must remember the importance of caring for the inner man.

Paul’s statement in Philippians 3:20 challenges Christians to place their ultimate allegiance in Christ. In this episode we’ll emphasize that our speech, attitudes, and daily choices reveal where our hearts truly belong, calling believers to live as faithful citizens of God’s eternal kingdom.

“My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) Paul learned that God doesn’t always remove our burdens, but He always provides the strength to endure them. Our weakness is often the very place where Christ’s power is most clearly seen.

Jesus says, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” There is no middle ground with the Lord. The reality is that every day we make choices that reveal where we stand. The question is not whether we will choose, but which side we will choose.

It is easy to let life happen without much thought. As Christians, we are called to live with intention - on purpose, for a purpose. When we live intentionally, even small actions contribute to greater work.

Do you have treasure? Of course you do! The better question is, “Where are you storing it?” Jesus tells us that our hearts follow our treasure, not the other way around. Let’s be sure we are storing it up in heaven, having our hearts fixed on Him.
