The source of reconciliation is God, motivated by His love, holiness, goodness and grace, with the focus being relationship. Jesus is the mediator who brings about the reconciliation between man and God.

As we continue in our series looking at the doctrine of Soteriology, we explore the concept of God's redemption, looking at what it is, what it cost, and why it makes a difference!

Justification, can be classified as a fruit of God's forgiveness, and is a free gift from God which is received by faith. It declares that we are made righteous in God's sight, and as a result we are able to enjoy the benefits and fruits of our righteousness.

In this, the first of our series on Soteriology, (the study of our salvation) we understand that Jesus offers forgiveness of our sin as a free gift. We cannot earn it, and we have no need to beg, bargain or bribe for it but rather we receive forgiveness by faith, which God gives instantly, completely, repeatedly and freely! 

On Resurrection Sunday we were encouraged to boast in the achievement of the cross which was God's demonstrated love, forgiveness of sin and lives transformed in the new creation.

We look at Palm Sunday as the gateway to the final and perhaps most critical week of Jesus's life; a week of great conflict into which He would walk willingly and without defense, and ultimately overcome through complete trust and devotion to the Father.

Throughout the Bible these three independent roles or offices were held by separate people individually, yet Jesus fulfills all 3 simultaneously to be a blessing and sustainer of all things.

Taking a look at events that have occurred and will still occur between Jesus's death and His return, we looked at what Jesus's death, resurrection and exaltation means for us today and how it can give us great confidence that He is soon to return to bring judgement, but not as a suffering servant but as a reigning King.

The evidence of Jesus's humanity is revealed and displayed through His human birth, the Incarnation, as well as His identification with man, and His substitutionary death for man. 

Throughout the Word, the deity of Jesus is evidenced through His names, His attributes and His works. 

Jesus is consistently consistent, and this characteristic of His is evidenced throughout the Bible, even in the Old Testament through Types, Theophanies and Prophecies and Covenants.

The purpose of roots in trees and plants is to draw nutrients and water from the soil, as well as anchoring the tree during storms. As disciples of Jesus Christ we are to make sure that we are rooted deeply in Him and in His love, in order for growth rings (maturity) to develop.

Looking at the 3 aspects of Family Church's Mission (Reach Grow Empower) we look at ways in which these have been, and will continue to be outworked in Waterlooville, both as a church and as individuals. As we as a church embrace all that God has for us in the year ahead, we look to Jesus, our perfect role-model, and gain insight into how He grew intentionally in every area of His life.

Looking at David's Testimony from Psalm 27 we learn how this man after God's own heart, faces trials and difficulties, where all that could be shaken was shaken. By finding hidden treasure in the midst of the storm, understanding Who God is, his faith is restored and he goes from a position of "Help me, help me" to "Teach me, Teach me". 

In 2024, God is not going to do a revised, rehearsed or repeated thing, but rather a new and fresh thing amongst us, individually and corporately. Letting go of the past, the familiar and the comfortable will enable us to raise our expectations by having eyes to perceive and hearts to believe all that He wants to do.

Through the birth of Jesus Christ God reveals His heart of love and peace towards us. God's plan for man was always one of peace, not only for the future, but also in our daily lives in the here and now, as we co-operate with God.

Great significance in humble beginnings. In this message Femi opens up the Gospel of Luke and lifts out 3 lessons which we learn from the birth of the Son of God: humility, simplicity and divinity. 

In the midst of much anxiety and fear amongst all the events that take place around the birth of Jesus, there is also great joy. Comparing the responses of Zacharias and Mary, we see the effects of unbelief vs faith, fear vs joy. Fear was muted but joy has a voice!

There are the seen and unseen realms and our true enemies are those of the unseen realms. As believers in Jesus Christ we have weapons of offence and defence at our disposal which we are use to enforce the devil's defeat. Coming from a position of victory, in Jesus' name we have authority over all the works of the devil, as well as the Word of God.

Waiting God's way can be an active state of preparation for the next sequence of events. As we plug into God's presence through prayer, He anoints us and empowers us with all that we have need of to do what He's called us to do.

As mortar "stands in the gap" between bricks in a wall, all believers and followers of Jesus are called to pray as a "go-between" on behalf of others. As Jesus and the Holy Spirit intercede for us, we too are to be led by the Holy Spirit and pray for others. 

Using the acronym A.C.T.S we learn about the value and preferred priority of different types of prayer, namely Adoration (Praise), Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication.

Man is a 3 part being: spirit, soul and body, Our prayer life can be affected when we allow our body and soul to be the filter through which we pray. When we are baptised in the Holy Spirit, we are graced with the ability to speak in tongues from our spirit.
