Faithbrook Church Messages

The 3rd Commandment is to not misuse the name of the Lord your God. We can abuse God's name out of frustration or exploit it for our benefit. But in this message we'll talk about a few ways that we can use God's name the way it was intended.

The 1st commandment is that we should have no other gods besides the one true God. Our society is in a different situation from the ancient Israelites who originally received these commandments, but the importance of this commandment still remains significant.

This Father's Day, Jeff Biggers talks to Faithbrook about the important role that encouragement plays in parenting, but also in our relationship with others. Real and true encouragement isn't just momentary, but is like a well that others can keep coming back to throughout their lives.

In this last message about the Holy Spirit’s impact on our lives, Pastor Peggy discusses the spiritual gifts. We don’t often emphasize these gifts, but the Spirit empowers each believer to serve the mission of the church.

The Holy Spirit is able to show up in powerful ways, just like he did on Pentecost Sunday. What God is asking of you will take the filling of the Holy Spirit. And there's only one want we can filled.

If we have the Holy Spirit in us then there will be evidence which the Apostle Paul calls fruit. But in order to produce this fruit of the Spirit, we have to continue to do this one thing.

The Holy Spirit is our advocate and helper. When we are in need, He comes along side us in multiple ways to comfort. But whether or not we get relief, the Holy Spirit is always working to transform.

When Jesus says that it is better for us that He leaves so that the Advocate can come, what does He mean? Who is the Holy Spirit and why is it important that we need Him?

The church is established by God, but it has never been perfect. Many people have been hurt by people within the church, but that doesn't mean that the church isn't a force for good in the world.

The final reset deals with Grace. Learning how to receive and give grace is so important to living like Christ. Grace received demands grace given.

The forth thing that we need to reset is our view of time. We tend to want to maximize our productivity or our experiences, but we end up draining ourselves and our families. The sabbath was created to give us margin so our hearts could be healthy.

Everyone loves a good friend, but we often have a hard time being a good friend. We need solid friendship for a healthy heart and life. A strong faith is always supported by strong friendships.
