After an angel releases the apostles from prison, he instructs them to preach in the temple. Upon being arrested again, Peter responds that we "must obey God rather than man". Learn how this applies to us today. We need to be challenged to be witnesses and not fear man.

Today's sermon brings a challenge to read through the Bible in a year.

The angels appear with the birth of Jesus and proclaim the glory of God because He has sent His Son, Jesus the Christ who is Savior and Lord.

Zechariah acknowledges that his son will prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. He looks forward to the great moment of the Messiah's coming. We too should look for the coming of the Lord and respond to Jesus in faith and trust.

In this sermon we examine Mary's Magnificat and the Biblical themes found in it. Mary comes before the Lord humbly. She rejoices in the grace of God and that He is keeping His promises in sending Jesus. Like Mary, we need to come before the Lord humbly.

Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her she will give birth to a baby although she is a virgin. Mary is chosen in the grace of God. Jesus will inherit the promises of an eternal kingdom given to King David. Jesus is unique in that He is the eternal Son of God who enters Mary's womb.

We are to enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Our highest motivation for thanksgiving is knowing the Lord and knowing His Works. This centers on knowing Him in creation and redemption so that we might acknowledge His covenant faithfulness.

What is the purpose of baptism? Who should be baptized? Baptism symbolizes our union with Jesus Christ where what He accomplished on the cross applies to us through faith in Him.

The unity of the early church was one in heart and soul. The grace of God made them generous towards each other. How can we be generous today with what God has given us?

How do we respond when we face opposition to the Christian faith and beliefs? We must obey God rather than man. But we must also remember that God is sovereign over all things. The events of opposition to the faith are not an accident but can and will serve as a part of God's plan.

It can be hard to share the faith with someone. But the Lord calls us to boldness. In this sermon, we look at two reason we can be bold in evangelism: (1) God's Word spreads and is effective even when their is opposition; (2) Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Dave Gundrum is the special guest speaker who shared about the special activities of church planting going on in the Bible Fellowship Church. He also preached on Acts 8:1-4 and 11:19-26 about the power of the culture and how it changed society in the early church.

In Acts 3, Peter preaches the gospel and calls his audience to repent. We need to repent before the Lord and in evangelism we call people to repent because of how great Jesus Christ is.

As Peter and John are entering the temple the heal a man who has been cripple since birth. It shows us the power of Jesus not only over the body but to forgive sins. The cripple being able to enter the temple is a sign of resurrection of Jesus and that in Jesus we are a new creation.

What is a healthy church? What are the marks of spiritual health when a church gathers? When the early church began to gather they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, prayer, the Lord's supper, generosity, and worship. In this sermon we learn how to apply these things to our church life today.

When Peter preaches Jesus Christ at Pentecost, he announces that Christ has ascended into heaven and been exalted at God's right hand. Jesus Christ is a king who has been installed on the throne over all creation. As a King, all people are called to repentant before Him and turn from their sin and receive forgiveness.

Central to the gospel that Peter preaches at his Pentecost sermon is the death and resurrection of Jesus. Find out how it assures us that we can trust God as God keeps His Word even when we don't understand what He is doing or what is purposes are. God always fulfills His Word and did so in Jesus' resurrection.

The Holy Spirit comes upon the disciples so that they might be witnesses. This is a great fulfillment of the Old Testament. Should I expect Pentecost experiences today? The Holy Spirit remains in the body of Christ today and empowers us to be witnesses.

After Jesus ascended into heaven, the church gathered and prayed waiting for the Holy Spirit. In preparing, they were lead to fulfill the Scripture and replace the the disciple Judas Iscariot in order to have a new witness share in the ministry of apostleship. In an analogous way, we need to devote ourselves to prayer, obeying God's Word and being witnesses.

We are to be witnesses to others in our daily lives so that they might hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Jesus promises the Holy Spirit to His disciples so that they might share the faith.

Have you ever felt like it was hard to pray? Have you ever wondered if your prayers were being heard? Maybe you've felt like your sin is keeping you away from God. God's Word teaches that Jesus is able to help us in our weaknesses. He is sympathetic and understanding as our high priest who goes before God on our behave. He gives mercy and grace in our times of need.

In the church today we cannot do ministry alone. We need faithful partners. The apostle Paul, himself, was not a "lone wolf" in ministry. Paul gives us insight into what faithful partnership in ministry looks like. As he ends the book of Colossians, he commends a number of people that have worked and traveled with him over the years. Paul did not minister alone. His faithful friends encouraged him...

We are instructed to be steadfast in our prayers and especially to pray for doors to be opened to share the gospel.

The Word of God gives us instructions for how to walk in Jesus Christ in our relationships. How do husbands and wives related? Parents and children? Employees and bosses? All of these relationships are transformed when we are in Jesus Christ and when we live accordingly.

In this passage, the Word of God instructs us to put on godly attributes that are evidences of the new life we have in Jesus Christ. Because we are the new self in Jesus Christ we are to put on attributes of compassionate hearts, humility, meekness, love, and forgive one another.
