The 'soil' of the heart. 09.07.2026

W hen God sees our lives, He does not merely see what we are today. He sees what His Word can produce in us. He sees kindness where there is anger. Hope where there is despair. Faith where there is doubt. Generosity where there is selfishness. Love where there is fear. God always sees the harvest before we do. Send me a text if you wish :)

Listening to the right tune 02.07.2026

In Matthew 11:16-19, Jesus challenges us to consider whether our hearts are truly open to God’s voice, even when He speaks in unexpected ways. May we learn to listen to the right tune, responding with faith and obedience rather than resistance.  Send me a text if you wish :)

Encountering Christ Through Others 25.06.2026

Sometimes the greatest acts of faith are not dramatic miracles or grand achievements. Sometimes they are simple acts of welcome, hospitality, and kindness. THAT is exactly what Jesus speaks about in today’s Gospel, Matthew 10:40-42. Send me a text if you wish :)

Faithfulness NOT Fear 18.06.2026

We humans are social animals. For the most past - we want to belong, we want to avoid conflict, we don’t want to be seen as different. Yet Jesus calls us to a life that sometimes requires courage, conviction, and faithfulness. THAT is exactly what Matthew’s gospel, in 10:24-39, is about. Send me a text if you wish :)

People are waiting! 10.06.2026

Many people see the needs of others. Far fewer are moved to respond. In Matthew 9:35-10:8, Jesus not only sees the crowds; He is deeply moved by them, and then He calls His followers, both then and now, to share His compassion and continue His work. Send me a text if you wish :)

Mercy NOT sacrifice 04.06.2026

Matthew was not the sort of person people expected Jesus to call. Yet Jesus walks past Matthew’s tax booth, looks directly at him, and says just two words: “Follow me.” No lecture. No interrogation. No demand that Matthew first change his life. Simply, “Follow me”, and Matthew gets up and follows. The remarkable thing is not just that Matthew follows Jesus. The remarkable thing is that Jesus calls...

LIFE not just doctrine 27.05.2026

The Holy Trinity, perhaps the invitation is not to try to explain the mystery but rather to accept the relationship and to live within it. To receive the love of the Father. To follow the Son. To walk in the Spirit. Then we  become people who carry that divine love into a fractured world. Send me a text if you wish :)

Unity in Diversity 20.05.2026

We read, in Acts 2, tongues of fire descend, the great wind comes, and the disciples receive the Holy Spirit.  At this sound, each one of the gathered crowd heard the disciples speaking in their own language. Luke goes to great lengths to list all these different people and  places ....  So what ??? Send me a text if you wish :)

Connection changes everything ! 13.05.2026

In John 17:1–11 we overhear Jesus praying. Not preaching. Not teaching the crowds. Not debating opponents … He prays. What makes this prayer remarkable is that it comes just before His arrest, suffering, and crucifixion.  In the shadow of the cross, Jesus does not panic.  In the shadow of the cross Jesus turns to, and connects with, His Father. Not Alone ! 06.05.2026

Last week a young lady posted a simple online message : “I have hundreds of followers online, but tonight I have never felt more alone.” Within hours, thousands of people responded. Many admitted they felt exactly the same way. Surrounded by technology, connected constantly, yet inwardly isolated. We live in a world full of communication, yet many people still ache with loneliness. And perhaps tha...

The Only Way 29.04.2026

That moment - between confusion and trust - is exactly where we meet the disciples in John 14:1–14. Jesus speaks on the night before His crucifixion. The room is heavy. The disciples sense something is wrong. Their world, built around Him, feels like it’s about to collapse. Into that fear, and fear like it, Jesus speaks ..... Send me a text if you wish :)

Which Voice ? 23.04.2026

Messages warning us about “scams” seem to be everywhere these days. Scam websites. Scam emails. Scam text messages. Scam phone calls. Unfortunately people are still falling prey to these crimes. A few days ago I read about a man in Australia who had unknowingly clicked on a link in an email he received following a phone call that he thought was from his bank. The call sounded real. The email looke...

Stay With Me! 15.04.2026

I f you are walking through a season of confusion or disappointment, if the world seems full of threats and bluster, violence and confrontation, if life has not turned out the way you hoped - - - you are not alone on the road. Christ DOES walk beside you. Even if you do not recognise Him. Even if your eyes are clouded by grief or doubt. He is there !!! Send me a text if you wish :)

Hope Returns ! 08.04.2026

It is evening. The doors are locked. Fear fills the room. These are not bold, confident followers of Christ. These are frightened people, hiding, unsure what comes next. The one they trusted has been crucified. The future they imagined has collapsed..... Into that locked, fearful space, Jesus comes. Send me a text if you wish :)

DO NOT BE AFRAID ! 04.04.2026

That moment - when hope breaks through despair, when life emerges where death seemed certain - that is the heartbeat of Easter morning. Send me a text if you wish :)

When darkness seems to win! 01.04.2026

Jesus knew who He was. That’s why betrayal didn’t break Him. That’s why accusations didn’t shake Him. That’s why the cross didn’t defeat Him. Send me a text if you wish :)

A King comes gently! 25.03.2026

Matthew tells us that Jesus sends two disciples ahead to find a donkey and a colt. This is no accident, no improvisation. Jesus is intentionally fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah: “See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey.” In the ancient world, kings rode warhorses when they came for battle. They rode donkeys when they came in peace. Jesus chooses the donkey. He comes gently....

When Jesus is late! 20.03.2026

Lazarus is dead ! Divine love is not always hurried love ! Sometimes Jesus delays not because He does not care — but because He intends something far greater. Send me a text if you wish :)

Who's Blind Now ? 15.03.2026

I have my own thoughts about Christianity.  Rightly or wrongly, I have in my mind what constitutes Christianity. I do NOT, however, know the mind of God.  No one does.  As the prophet Isaiah (55:8) says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”. But sometimes humans, ancient and modern, slip into thinking that they actually do know how God chooses...

Surprises Surprises ! 06.03.2026

SURPRISES … SURPRISES … The story revealed to us in John 4:5-42, of Jesus, a Jew, talking with a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well is a story full of them. The barriers to this conversation happening at all are IMMENSE. Between Samaritan and Jew there was a wall of separation no less than that, which in our time often separates, Israeli from Palestinian in The Holy Land. Send me a text if you wish :...

Born Again ? 25.02.2026

In both Hebrew and Greek, the same word is used for wind, breath, and spirit. You can’t see the wind, you can’t control it, but you CAN see its effects. Faith, Jesus says, works just like that. This was deeply unsettling for the Pharisee Nicodemus - and perhaps also for us, because we prefer systems we can manage.  We like checklists. We like knowing where we stand! However, the Spirit does not fi...

Tested NOT Abandoned 18.02.2026

Matthew tells us something important and unsettling: Jesus, the beloved Son of God, is led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be TEMPTED. This is not a detour. This is part of a journey. <PAUSE> Many of us assume that if we are close to God, life should get easier. However, Matthew 4:1-11 tells us a different story. Sometimes the place of testing is not a sign of God’s absence, but of God’...

LISTEN to Him 11.02.2026

God's voice from heaven spoke. That voice from heaven does NOT say, “This is my Son - understand him fully.” It says, “Listen to him.” Faith is not about having all the answers. It is about paying attention. About learning to hear Christ’s voice above all those others voices of fear, success, anger, and distraction. Send me a text if you wish :)

TAKE IT PERSONALLY ! 06.02.2026

22 years before his death, Fr. Rene Robert wrote a letter in front of his lawyer and had it notarised to make it a legal document. Fr. Rene appeared to foretell his death in these words, “Should I die a violent death, I request that the person found guilty of homicide for my killing not be subjected to or put in jeopardy of the death penalty under any circumstances. No matter how heinous their cri...

Blessed ?? 31.01.2026

We often talk about ourselves or others as being blessed. “I’m blessed.” “She’s blessed.” “We’re really blessed.” Here’s what I wonder: what does it mean to be blessed? When you tell someone, “you are blessed” what do you mean by that? And when you hear someone else say, “I’m really blessed,” how do you understand that? Send me a text if you wish :)
