Evangelical Friends Church - Eastern Region

Immigration is a controversial subject in the U.S. and the American church. Since the nation’s founding, immigration has been a consistent catalyst for church growth and vitality. We will explore the dynamics of the relationship between immigration and the church and how immigration policy affects people of Christian faith who come to the U.S. and become members of our faith communities.

As many of our churches desire to reach the next generation, one question we are constantly asking is, “How?” This workshop doesn’t provide “3 easy steps to guarantee young people,” but it does look at the trends and desires of Gen Z and beyond as we attempt to minister to them within our churches.

From its inception, the Friends movement held that women are called to positions of ministry leadership. This workshop provides an overview of the theological grounding for women in ministry leadership and a snapshot of the great contribution of female leaders in the Eastern Region’s history.

This interactive session will explore the experiences of women in ministry through reflection, storytelling, and discussion.
