Thursday morning's devotional comes from Genesis 9:8-13.

Today begins the Lent season marking 40 days before Easter. Join us as Pastor Travis leads us through the first devotional through this sacred time of the year.

Proverbs 29:7 tells us that poverty is not always a result of foolishness or wickedness. Righteous judges and leaders must give the poor every consideration of thought and investigation that they might naturally give to rich, to make sure the rights of the poor are understood. We must do this too.

Proverbs 28:28 observes a time when the people in power in a society think and act with wicked intentions. What harm results? What causes that situation to change?

Pastor Travis continues in the series in the book of Luke. Currently we are in Luke 6 working through the Sermon on the Plain.

We'll look again at the big heart contrast that the Proverbs exposes: The two ways of thinking and acting. One way is labeled foolish and the other is life. Our choice of pathway never stops being made. Proverbs 28:26.

Monday morning's devotional comes from Romans 9:1-5.

Proverbs 28:24, as well as Exodus 20:12 and Matthew 15:4-7, clearly present what God requires of adult children when it comes to honoring their parents. For one thing, it would be morally horrible to rob their wealth from them.

No one likes their faults and flaws highlighted and corrected by others. But today we have another Proverb that encourages us to respond to someone's character flaw with rebuke or reproof. Why do this? Surely in the short-term it will cause relational disharmony; but what about the long-term results?

Monday morning's devotional comes from Romans 8:31-39.

No ones says I'm looking for a job where I do the same boring stuff everyday. In today's culture, young graduates are looking for jobs that fulfill them and where they get paid high salaries quickly. But how often does that pursuit come to success? Proverbs 28:19 has an observation for this situation.

"Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied." Jesus said these words in his Sermon on the Plain found in the Bible in Luke 6:21. The second of eight statements to open his message and connect with his people. Join us as we continue to look at the opening to the Sermon on the Plain.

Proverbs 28:17 forces us to look at a topic we don't want to consider: How to treat those who murder. In God's mind, the price / burden of Blood Guilt is extremely high. What is the lesson we should pass on to others when it come to murdering another human being?

Monday morning's devotional comes from Romans 8:26-30.

Proverbs 28:16 depicts good leadership and bad. What's interesting is what that leader or ruler hates or loves. The impact on those led or governed is great depending on what the leader in power loves or hates.

Thursday Morning's devotional comes from Romans 8:18-23.

This week Pastor Continues in his devotional series through the book of Luke. Currently we are working through the Four Beatitudes and Four Woes found in Luke 6.

Most would say we need less stress, worry or fear in our lives. We should have "no worries" in our work, school, relationships and neighborhoods. But our Proverb today commends fear (caution, reverence, respect, alertness) to complacency (insensitivity, low concern for pleasing, distraction).

Proverbs 28:10 Warns the upright that there are "snare setters" who are actively attempting to cause you to stray into evil behavior. The verse also warns these "snare setters" that their future is grim.
