Paul's prayer for this church is that they would glorify God by the way they love one another. So what kind of love brings glory to God?

As 2021 dawns what should Christians hope for? The prophetess, Anna, models how those who await the coming king live.

The coming of Jesus is the proof we need that, no matter what uncertainty we're facing, we can trust the Lord with our lives.

In this parable Jesus teaches that the kingdom of God will not appear immediately. While we wait for Jesus—our true king—to return, we are instructed to use the gifts that God has given us to engage in the business of the kingdom. This parable is both an encouragement to faithfully wait and a warning for those who would reject the authority of the king. 

The drive for validation, for a life that counts for something, is a basic human drive. But this parable warns us against looking for validation in the wrong place, and points us to the only source we can depend on.

Jesus speaks of two men, two lives, and two destinations. Will we listen to God’s word or live for this life alone?

What do you expect for your future? How does that affect you today?

Jesus is seen eating with sinners and tax collectors in Jerusalem. The religious are outraged. The land of the Father is at stake. Jesus tells the story of two sons.

Through two stories of loss and recovery, Jesus shows us the surprising beauty of God's love for sinners.

What if the greatest meal in the world was open to everyone? Then the question wouldn't be whether you can get in, but whether you want to come.

God's kingdom begins in obscurity and ends in glory. This reality takes our focus off what seems impressive to us, and puts it on the God who's at work and what he's promised to us.

Using the parable of the fig tree, Jesus teaches that God patiently looks for the fruit of repentance in his people; those who do not produce it will finally be cut down!

What our wealth is to us is a powerful sign of who God is to us.

How do we come to God? Jesus tells his disciples to pray with a shameless audacity so that they might receive what they most need – the Holy Spirit.

How do you tell who belongs to Jesus? Those who experience compassion from him show compassion to others.

Everything that matters to our church depends on the power of God at work among us. So let's celebrate what he has built, and trust him with what we love.

There are just two ways to receive the Word: 1. To see it’s truth and to produce fruit in keeping with it 2. To reject it. If such revelation is down to the grace of God we should sow the Gospel everywhere knowing that fruit will be produced in time.

Jesus uses parables to show us what his kingdom is like, and to deliver us from our mistaken assumptions about what it means to belong to it.

In the climax to the first part of Acts, Peter miraculously heals two servants of the church. Such deeds remind us what God’s church is all about. 

The story of Saul's conversion and calling shows us that God's grace can reach anyone, and his power can use anyone.

The key to faithful and effective evangelism is knowing the difference between God’s role and ours.

The comfort of God's sovereignty is that you can trust him. The challenge of God's sovereignty is that you can't control him. But when you know you can trust him, you have no need to control him.

Opposition to the gospel and the church reaches a climax as the first Christian martyr dies, but God teaches us that no amount of rejection can stop His purposes from being accomplished... that His witnesses will go to the end of the earth.
