A savior who can raise the dead is a savior worth dying for. And a savior worth dying for is a savior worth living for.

If as Christians we live faithfully in the world, what sort of reaction should we expect from those around us?

These two stories show us how God's power works in us and how God's power works through us.

Understanding that God accepts all people without distinction affected the Jerusalem church's whole purpose and mission. As we consider this passage, we are challenged to find our role in Jesus' mission to get the gospel to the ends of the earth, a role for which he enables us.

God accepts anyone from anywhere because, through Jesus, God can forgive anyone from anywhere.

In this passage the good news of the gospel extends to the gentiles. It is a transformative moment for the people of God. There is no longer a distinction between Jew and Gentile: all of God's people are washed clean by the blood of Jesus. And if God doesn't make a distinction, neither should we.

How can we cultivate a fruitful community, where what we believe about God shapes how we live together

Faithful Christian living begins with remembering that when we were from from him, God was merciful to us.

What orients our lives as Christians? The grace of God that has appeared, and the glory of Christ that will appear.

Our lives can obscure or display the beauty of the gospel we profess. What do we need in order to make the beauty of the gospel clear?

Paul explains why elders are necessary. False teachers have infiltrated churches in Crete and are teaching religious rules. Such teaching must be stopped. 

What is an elder? Who should be elders? And how should we respond to what Paul says about elders?

What do we want to be about as a church? What do we want to hand on to those who come after us? The same things Paul handed down to Titus, and through Titus down to us.

Boaz and Ruth marry. Ruth and Naomi enjoy all the undeserved blessings of redemption. Obed, grandfather of King David, is born.

Ruth observes that everlasting provision comes through a marriage to Boaz. As a result, she takes a risk; she hopes solely in him.

Boaz, a relative of Naomi, notices the impoverished Ruth gleaning in the fields. He ensures that she has an abundance of protection and provision.
