It's common for us to ask, “What am I made to do?” But have you ever tried to answer the question, “How am I made to rest?” – or even asked it? The God Who created us gives purpose to our work and our rest – and we'll dive into His purposes for us this Sunday in Genesis 2:1-3. We can't wait to see you Sunday!

Of all of creation, it's humanity that's capable of asking--and burdened by wondering--“Why are we here?” But in the first chapter of the Bible, we celebrate that God answers this question in an amazing way, and beyond what we could ever expect! Join us in Genesis 1:26-31 this Sunday, and bring the great news of God's purpose and worth to those around you!

When Christian community falls short of what it has been and could be, we want to restore it! But we often try to get it back to what it was the wrong way. Healthy Christian community comes to us, not as the goal of our gathering, but as the overflow of faith in Jesus lived out together. Dive into this wonderful snapshot of the early church in Acts 2:42-47!

"What shall we do?"––how do we respond once we hear and understand the good news of the Gospel? We're delighted to welcome Pastor Altin Zefi back to East Bay Calvary Church, visiting from his overseas service in Albania, to bring God's Word to us from Acts 2:37-41.

Pastor Kit leads the church in prayer after the recent tragedy at the Walmart in Traverse City.

Many of us have had "mountaintop experiences," moments of meaningful spiritual connection that leave us forever changed. But after major spiritual experiences, we don’t always know how to follow through with it—and we fail to connect it to Jesus. But Peter showed how to make that clear, compelling connection between our experience of the Spirit and the GREAT news we have in Jesus! Join us in Acts...

As we celebrate, let's get excited about the church and about the Spirit – but let's not miss the point of both of them. When the Holy Spirit empowers His people, we’ve got to use His power for His purpose! Walk with us in God's Word in Acts 2:1-13 to see what God wants when He gives the Spirit to the church.

Pastor Kendale Dennis shares a message from Psalm 78 at our 75th Anniversary gathering on Saturday night, July 12, 2025.

The capacity of Christian leaders for horrible sin seems to threaten Jesus’ plan to empower and send us once He’s gone. What do we do when even Jesus’ closest followers can fall so far from walking with God? We'll find hope as we read Acts 1:12-26.

When our attention drifts, we refocus ourselves on what we expect to come next. But when it comes to the mission we have from Jesus, when our attention drifts, we depend on each other to refocus us on what Jesus called us to do! We're pressing onward in Acts 1:6-11 this Sunday.

Jesus' work in this world is far from over! The mission of Jesus continues––but many people don’t know that He meant for it to keep going in us. Others are trying to carry it on in our own strength. But Jesus wants us to carry on His mission––in the power that God the Father promises us. We're looking forward to jumping into Acts 1:1-5 with you in our new series, How the Church Got Started!

In our worry about the future or ambition for it, we often focus, not on worthless things, but things that are worth less. To plan well for the future, however old we are, we've got to set a higher value on what lasts for eternity. Let's look at how we can apply 1 Corinthians 13:8–14:1 to our lives together.

How can so many people be so different at defining something so important as LOVE? In the end, the Author of life is the Author of love. He calls us to surrender our definitions and expectations about love so that we can accept His. We're looking forward to digging into 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 together!

Our next short series of messages in 1 Corinthians 13 anchors us in the essential need for love in the Christian life. Have you noticed when church people get caught up in religious “stuff,” we often veer away from the Spirit-filled, Jesus-following lives God wants us to live? Let's break the idea that anything we do as a church (and anywhere else in life, for that matter), matters one bit without...

What do you do when ongoing struggles make you doubt whether you want to press on in following Jesus? Remember that endurance you had when you first came to Jesus–remember it, reclaim it, and press on in it! We're excited for you to join us for our last message in Hebrews (10:32-39)!

Wanna know what breaks a Christian mother's heart? When those they love walk away from Jesus: whether it's to please other people around them, to avoid hardship, or deliberately rejecting Him to follow another way. We're moving forward in Hebrews 10:26-31 this Sunday, from the right response to all God planned for us to the danger of rejecting His plan to save us. Don’t keep anyone––including moms...

Time to put it all together! We've been watching how God set up the who, how, where, what, and when of our salvation -- and this week, it's all coming together in how we live. Pastor Reist is preaching Hebrews 10:19-25 … and you know that part in Hebrews about "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together"? That's what he's preaching!

We're pressing on in Hebrews together this Sunday, especially thinking about how many people have abandoned religion out of frustration, too tired of keep trying to make up for their sins to God on their own. But Jesus broke that frustrating cycle that we could never get ourselves out of to finally, fully, truly take away our sin! We hope you'll join us for a once-for-all message of hope in Jesus...

Jesus' death and resurrection change everything – and on this Easter Sunday we look at how His sacrifice set a new and better plan for our lives into motion. Pastor Kit looks at Hebrews 9:11-22.

Hebrews 9:1-12

God realized the broken agreement we had with Him before we realized it. But we ALSO tend not to realize that Jesus already brokered a better deal between us, too! Click below, open your Bible with us to Hebrews 8, and see the better promises that Jesus has now guaranteed for us!

The law given to the Israelites in the Old Testament was a good thing, in its time – but when Jesus came, He instituted a systemic change to the priesthood that we'd be wise to grab hold of. We continue our study in Hebrews as Pastor Kit looks at Hebrews 7:11-28.

This week we take a deep dive into the mysterious character Melchizedek, how he relates to Abraham, what that has to do with Jesus, and, most importantly, what it all means for our faith. Pastor Kit looks at Hebrews 7:1-10 as we continue our study in Hebrews.
