Before discussing the October Previews, Jenny and Mike have a frank conversation about the forthcoming Saw IV and movies of its ilk.

Did First Born #2 surpass the greatness of the first issue? Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #24 has a lot of hype behind it, but did the second chapter in the "One More Day" storyline impress? It might look pretty, but what of the story that makes up New Warriors #5? Is Punisher War Journal #12 the best Punisher book ever? And who didn't finish reading Runaways #28?

This week Des and Mike took early looks at Howard the Duck #1, Ms. Marvel #20, Omega: The Unknown #1, Uncanny X-Men #491 and Wolverine Annual #1. Which book had them on opposite sides of the grading scale? Here's a clue: it was a #1.

Of the five mostly excellent books this week (Franklin Richards: Monster Mash #1, Marvel Adventures Iron Man # 5, Punisher MAX Annual #1, Ultimate Spider-Man #114 and X-Men #203), two honestly shocked Des and Mike with their greatness!

"The angels are coming for you. But listen: your life could depend on this. Don't blink. Don't even blink! Blink and you're dead! They are fast! Faster than you can believe! Don't turn your back! Don't look away! And don't blink! Good luck." That's right, we're talking about "Blink," the awesomely wonderful episode of Doctor Who.

In last week's Is It Wednesday Yet? Des and Mike didn't quite agree. This week the pair reviews Captain America #30, Marvel Comics Presents #1, New X-Men #42, Penance: Relentless #1 and Terror, Inc. #2. Are things any different this time around?

Des and Mike go through five issues of Countdown this month (39, 38, 37, 36 and 35), pointing out the good, the bad and the ugly along the way. Oh, and Des was right about... ah, that would be telling!

Jenny and Mike share some laughs over Confessions of a Blabbermouth, a brand new graphic novel by the DC Comics imprint Minx. They then briefly wonder how they acted as college freshmen. Mike offers a sincere apology to horror podcasters. And then the duo reviews Rob Zombie's Halloween.

In previous installments of Is It Wednesday Yet?, Des and Mike have pretty much seen eye to eye, this week all that changes. Which books couldn't they come to terms on? Well, here's the list to choose from: Cyblade Pilot Season #1, New Avengers #34, Nova #6, Parade (with Fireworks) #1 and Thor #3.

After arguing over who's better between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Jenny and Mike take a look at the September Previews.
