Earth-2.net: The Show

Though it might have reshaped how the world saw Batman, and led directly to the creation of Batman: The Animated Series, Tim Burton's Batman (1989) is a seriously flawed film with bland characters, numerous plot holes and a Batman who has no qualms about killing. Let the ranting begin!

Last week we teased it, and now it's here! The newest segment of Earth-2.net: The Show is Waiting for the Trade, hosted by Dan Toland and Michael David Sims. In this first installment, the guys speak about Abyss, volume one; Wolverine: Origins, volume five - Deadpool; and Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters.

First the duo discusses Jenny's writing, then they read through the September Previews.

Des is back! As always, he and Mike reviewed five comic books (Dead of Night Featuring Devil-Slayer #1, Marvel Apes #1, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane #2, Sub-Mariner: The Depths #1 and Venom: Dark Origin #2), but one of them was so bad it put the duo in a foul mood for the rest of the show.

"Am I the meanest? Sho'nuff! Am I the prettiest? Sho'nuff! Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town? Sho'nuff! Well who am I? Sho'nuff! Who am I? Sho'nuff! I can't hear you! Sho'nuff... the Shogun of Harlem!" Oh yeah, we're talking about The Last Dragon!

For the honor of Grayskull, Jenny and Mike review She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword!

Once again, Dan Toland joins Mike to discuss five comic books: Black Panther #40, Daredevil #110, Runaways #1, Secret Invasion: The Amazing Spider-Man #1 and She-Hulk #32.

This week, Mike and a special guest review 1985 #4, Moon Knight #21, Punisher #61, Uncanny X-Men #501 and X-Factor Special: Layla Miller. Who's the guest and where's Des? You know how to found out.

James Deaux and Ian Wilson join Mike this week, as the trio reviews the 1966 Batman movie, starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Along the way the guys discuss Robin's feelings about kissing girls, the monument to Benedict Arnold in Gotham City Central Park, the Riddler's wayward glances and the differences in how Americans and the British pronounce certain words.

The five comics Des and Mike cover this week are Atomic Robo: Dogs of War #1, Fall of Cthulhu: Godwar #1, Secret Invasion: Inhumans #1, Station #2 and X-Men Origins: Jean Grey.

Another collection of Power Records are presented today for your enjoyment. This batch, entitled The Amazing Spider-Man and Friends, includes Spider-Man: The Mark of the Man-Wolf, The Incredible Hulk at Bay, Captain America and the Falcon: And a Phoenix Shall Arise and The Fantastic Four: The Way It Began.

Concerts, cleavage and comics are the order of the day, as Jenny and Mike read through the August Previews!

As always, Des and Mike reviewed five comic books this week: Fantastic Four: True Story #1, Haunt of Horror: Lovecraft #2, newuniversal: 1959, Skaar: Son of Hulk #2 and X-Men: Odd Men Out. While two of them are worth your time, three are true stinkers!

First up, Desmond Reddick interviews Dr. E. Paul Zehr, author of Becoming Batman: The Possibility of a Superhero. Then Ian Wilson chimes in with his review of Wanted.

After taking a few weeks off, Des and Mike are back to review five comics books: The Immortal Iron Fist #17, Marvel Adventures Super Heroes #1, Uncanny X-Men #500, Wolverine: First Class #5 and X-Men: Legacy #214.

Before Jenny reads the July Previews, Mike gushes over the Watchmen trailer.
