Duke Reacts!

Maybe not what you'd be expecting someone to react to on this day, archived from Friday the 13th 2022. But we've unearthed a couple gems from one of the godfathers of both Rap and Alternative music. Zappa had a lot to say about the Disco movement of the late 70s. If you want us to do a full reaction to Disco Boy leave us some love and subscribe to the podcast baby.

Busta's "You Don't Really Know" music video from 2015 featuring J Doe leading off. This one of the forgotten ones from the 2010s where he really spazzed tf out. Enjoy

BANGER. Produced by Mark Ronson. off Action Bronson's 2015 major-label debut Mr. Wonderful. Archived reaction from Jan 2022

Reacting to the kind of strange beast that is Busta Rhymes and his latest billion dollar budget music video for BOOMP! off ELE 2. Archived reaction from December 2020

Went crazy on this reaction to the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards with a performance by Jermaine Dupri and the So So Def all-stars. Performers (in order of appearance): Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, Lil Jon, Bone Crusher, Nelly, Chingy, Dem Franchise Boyz, Missy Elliott, Bow Wow

One of Zappa's more insane tracks, this one has the immortal Ike Willis asking a very specific man-question. Also from Zappa's 1979 magnum opus Joe's Garage. Enjoy

Just like everybody else I do love and miss this version of Kanye with the soulful beats and breezy hooks. Don't know why he has to do all this other stuff these days.

MF DOOM's 2004 classic Rapp Snitch Knishes (feat. Mr. Fantastik) off the classic album MMM...Food. MF Doom was a creative genius, this song especially caught my ear. Was this a diss on Tekashi? You be the judge

Reacting to South Park's infamous "Sexual Harassment Panda" episode in response to the Me Too movement. I'm well aware that this reaction may get us cancelled, BUT I am willing to go there. What are you goinna do to stop it now? Gotta love classic South Park!

XTC's Dear God, from the 1986 album Skylarking. This video definitely caught me off guard, Andy Partridge spazzed out on the last verse. This is a master class in songwriting. And a FIRE feature from a random child, these lyrics hit different now.

As a teenager, this was the song nobody could sing in karaoke, one of the most impossible verses to truly master. Late 90s alternative classic, Barenaked Ladies ONE WEEK.

This one hits different today I tell ya. This was used as an anthem in the early 1960s for American soldiers in Vietnam and that story stuck with me so I thought I'd share it with you guys. Enjoy

Classic SNOOOP, this one used to bang pretty hard in the clubs back in the early 2000s.

Another gem from the dirty South in the early 2000s, David Banner & Lil Flip- Like A Pimp. Enjoy

Apparently this is a clip of the 2000s Nu-Metal band Mudvayne performing live at the ACADEMY AWARDS. Is this real or a really clever editing job? You be the judge.

Alice Cooper has supposedly been "cancelled" for a joke he made in recent interviews. But cancel this, we're still gonna react to the original Shock Rocker here on Duke Reacts. Elected (1972) is one of the first music videos ever made by a popular rock artist, well before MTV.

From the 1975 film adaptation of The Who's Tommy, this is Eyesight to the Blind featuring Eric Clapton. The scene is quite trippy, as is most of the movie. It truly was a unique time in rock and roll, where you could get away with a lot more than you can now.

Busta was definitely "on one" for this remix. I decided to take a trip back to 2010, when Busta Rhymes was at the top of his game in terms of fast rap. "Mr. Smash On Everybody Record" certainly brought it on this one, as did Nicki Minaj.

Fantastic and underrated UK band from the 70s. THE SWEET in this video are Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Andy Scott and Mick Tucker. Reacting to TEENAGE RAMPAGE off their 1974 debut album. A lost classic

This song seems to have taken on new meaning after the pandemic, with Gen Y & Z latching on to Lil' Duval and Snoop Dogg's message. Or maybe not, but you still gotta turn this shit up at every BBQ.

Originally posted 7/16/21 Rare full-length collab between the OG legends Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. Hearing this for the first time, enjoy the reaction!

I'm surprised more people didn't react to this fire music video off Snoop's 2022 masterpiece Back on Death Row. I'm one of only 3 or 4 reactions to this on all of Youtube. Enjoy. And yes, BIG and 2PAC both back here

You don't think of this song when thinking of 80s anthems, but for me this a banger. One of the earliest music videos, this is when the format was brand new, summer 1981 I believe. Gotta rock out to this one, hits different today.

This reaction is a tribute to Hip-Hop music turning 50 years old this weekend. And yes, I do want to hear that OLD SCHOOL.
