(From December 28th) We wrap up Paul's closing thoughts from his letter to the Colossian church.

This week we spend a few minutes wrapping up Colossians and move to the letter of Philemon.

Continuing our conversation two weeks ago about the purpose of the church, specifically as it relates to love, service, and fellowship.

On this New Year's Day, we study the fragility of human "resolutions" and the power of God's covenants.

This week we begin a Bible Study through the Minor Prophets, beginning with the book of Obadiah and the message for the Edomites.

At the end of Colossians 3, Paul gives instruction for Christian households including parents, children, masters, and servants.

We continue our lesson from this morning, examining the purpose of the church, in light of being the Body of Christ.

As we continue to talk about church membership, we examine the purpose of the church, and being the body of Christ. From 1 Corinthians 12:12.

This week we look at the traits Paul says should belong to the church, and the goal of congregational fellowship.

The second part of this week's lesson, addressing the question "What is the church?" and addressing what the Bible says the church looks like. We've also included some of our discussion portion after tonight's service. 

This week we begin another multi-part lesson discussing the meaning of the word "church" in the Bible, and what (or who) exactly that is.

This week we dig into the heart of Colossians 3, in which Paul brings home the application of everything we've been talking about so far - how Christians should live. Also included on this episode is some devotional thoughts and the invitation from Michael LaHue. 

Tonight we pick up from the morning's lesson on giving, out of Deuteronomy 26:1-8. We have also included on this recording the class-style discussion after the lesson. 

This week, in a multi-part lesson, we look at the example first given in Deuteronomy 26, of the offering of the first fruit from the land that God gave to Israel.

This week in our study of the letter to the Colossians, we look at a few key transitional verses between the ideas of Col. 2 (getting rid of traditions and rites and rituals) and Col. 3 (how Christians ought to live.)

The idea of a meal that commemorates our blessings, and remembers what God has given us is older than you might think. From Exodus 12, the story of the first Passover.

Our study brings us to the closing lines of Jude, talking about how "God is able," specifically as it relates to Daniel 3.

This week we finished up Colossians 2, where Paul talks about some of the rituals and traditions that other groups were imposing on the church. Building on Colossians 1, he reiterates the importance of faith based on Christ alone. 

In this week's Sunday evening lesson, we talk about man's greatest problem: sin. In this lesson we examine the Bible definition of sin, the biblical epithets used to sin, in order to help us understand and avoid that which separates man from God, sin.

In this lesson we want to look the reason why we live in a “gimme” society: 1) Worldliness, 2) Covetousness, 3) Selfishness. Objectives: That each one would be able to explain why our society is so selfish with Biblical examples. Aim: That we each may be able to understand these desires in the hopes of avoiding them.

Van picks up our weekly bible study through the short but powerful book of Jude, warning against the dangers of false teaching.

Paul shifts gears in chapter 2, and begins talking about circumcision - what's the deal with all that?

This morning we look at 2 Samuel 7, where David makes a covenant with God, and the Lord promises to dwell with him as long as he keeps His commandments.

This week up wrap up our study of 2nd Peter 3, looking at what the Bible says about the coming judgment day.

We continue our study of Paul's letter to the Colossians, looking at the relational nature of Christianity and the importance of tradition versus doctrine.
