Believing Begets Believing

Jesus begins the High Priestly Prayer, and we are reminded that He is not just a man.  He is the preexistent Christ who cannot be conquered!  It is this hope that keeps us stable when other forces threaten us. 

Jesus knows that the disciples will mourn His death.  And so He prepares them that thought they will mourn, this will ultimately lead to rejoicing.  How can we trust in Jesus when the world around us seems to be falling apart? 

Jesus teaches more on the Holy Spirit on this night than at any other time.  It was a startling concept for the apostles just like it is for many of us.  Do we believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us?  If so, are we actively interacting with Him and relying on His power? Main passage: John 15:26, 14:25-31

In one of the most encouraging texts of the Bible Jesus invites us to abide in Him and promises to abide in us.  What would an abiding relationship with Him look like?  And is that possible for all of us.  Jesus asks us to believe Him that it is, and that this life is better than anything the world could offer.

Week 4: Believe in the Power of Jesus in Us 2/15/2026 Main Passage: John 14:12–14 Jesus promises that we will do the same kinds of things that he did.  Is that possible?  Do we believe it is possible?  The answers to these questions will change how we interact with Him.

Week 3: Believe Jesus is the Way 2/8/2026 Main Passage: John 14:1–11 Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do.   When asked about this Jesus replied that He IS the way, truth, and life.  How do we walk in belief when we are not given specifics?  The answer lies in the person of Jesus.

Week 2: Believe in Servant Leadership 2/1/2026 Main Passage: John 13:1–20 Jesus is the ultimate servant leader.  If we believe in Him are we willing to walk the same path of humility rather than seeking the fame, fortune, and firstness of the world?
