Double BJ's Podcast

The second of the Halloween Double Feature, Bee makes Joe watch Peter Jackson's gore filled epic Braindead (or Dead Alive in the US). What does the Evil Dead-loving guy think about this? Find out!

For the first of a special Halloween Double Feature here, BehindTheMask starts off with his pick of Harbinger Down. A film made by the SFX team behind The Thing (2011) prequel before it was pasted over with CGI. The film follows a survey team uncovering a Soviet capsule and it takes over the ship captained by Lance Henriksen. What did Joejira, Bee and HappySlapp think? Find out.

Joejira makes the guys watch the first part of one of the best films in the Kaiju genre, Shusuke Kaneko's reboot of the Gamera franchise. What does the rest of the cast who are more familiar with the giant flying turtle's box office rival Godzilla have to say? Find out.

HappySlapp aka Jacen settled what knockoff film to make the guys watch, Ninja Terminator by Godfrey Ho. An infamous Hong Kong filmmaker who would take an existing movie, film new footage for it (usually involving ninjas) and edits them together in the most flimsy way possible. What do the rest think about this film? Is there enough plot for a game of Plot Potato? No, there isn't any.

Bee decides to keep the Cannon Films train rolling with what is more of the studio's type, Death Wish 3 starring Charles Bronson. What do the rest of the guys think? Listen as we each do terrible Bronson impressions.

The guys finish the Christopher Reeve Superman movies with the only one that's "Cannon", Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. See Joejira get excited about every dumb thing in the film as BehindTheMask is just miserable.

After some technical issues, the gang is back to watch BehindTheMask's pick to wash away the stink of Supergirl (1984). Did he make the right choice? Find out!

Bee, Jacen and Mask want Joejira's head for making them watch Supergirl.

The guys' Superman retrospective keeps on flying as we get to for the few hosts who have seen the series, is the least watched. How could that be? It has comedy legend Richard Pryor and B-Movie superstar Robert Vaughn from such classics as Zombie 5: Killing Birds and C.H.U.D. 2: Bud the CHUD!

Keeping up with our look at the Superman movies, the guys watch Superman II. Bee and Joe picked the Theatrical Cut where half the film was reshot by Richard Lester after the producers fired Donner because they haven't seen it in decades. Does it hold up? Will BehindTheMask & Jacen like it? Find out!

Sorry for the long wait. This episode, Joejira and BeeEmDoubleU wanted to do a discussion episode. They figured because they're huge Sci-Fi nerds to the point when not recording, it's what they usually talk about. They give their Top 5 Sci-Fi Franchises (NOT STAR TREK) What are their picks? What do Jacen and BehindTheMask think about it? Find out in our first discussion episode with a full...

After OBS failed to record the previous attempt, the Double BJ's are back where Joe makes the guys watch the 1986 animated classic Transformers The Movie. Will their new recording program Craig be up to the task? Find out

The next part of our Superman retrospective. Joejira makes the guys watch the version of Richard Donner's Superman that he grew up with, the 2000 Director's Cut. Will the guys love this version of an already great film? Listen to find out

Come listen to what's possibly the last episode of the series because Bee, Jacen and Mask want to kill Joejira for making them watch the OTHER animated movie based on a toyline about transforming robots, Gobots: Battle of the Rock Lords.

Our first film in our Superman Retrospective, the hosts watch the introduction to George Reeves as the Man of Steel in what's pretty much a theatrical pilot to the "Adventures of Superman" television series.

We're Back! For our first episode of 2026, Joejira and Bee make Mask and Jacen watch the 1962 Samurai classic Yojimbo. By Legendary director Akira Kurosawa and starring cinematic badass Toshiro Mifune. What did they think about this historical piece of cinema that has influence later works like Fistful of Dollars and a bit of Star Wars? Find out! Check Out Riffin' with Doggans: Captain Ame...

For our first Christmas, Joejira makes BehindTheMask watch the 1988 Christmas Action movie classic, Die Hard.

What was suppose to be the finale of our Troma themed Thanksgiving episodes ending with Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead but Bee had to cancel due to Thanksgiving shopping so BehindTheMask, Joejira and HappySlapp aka Jacen sit down and reflect on what they've seen on and off the show and what they hope to watch for 2026.

The second in our Troma Thanksgiving is the 1999 film that's a sort of autobiographical but not on the making of a Troma film and is also an early film written by James Gunn.

What better way to star the Thanksgiving season than our four hosts come together and be thankful they're not freezing to death trying to cross from Utah into Colorado. This episode, join Bee, Jacen, BehindTheMask and Joejira talk about the film debut of Matt Stone and Trey Paker in Cannibal the Musical, a Troma production!

What better way to follow up on Ice Cube's War of the Worlds than with a completely different movie with nothing in common? Why Brian De Palma's 1974 cult musical classic Phantom of the Pardise of course! Listen to Bee, Jacen, BehindTheMask and Joejira as they talk about Paul Williams and the glorious majesty of Beef.

For our first Halloween episode, we watched the now infamous adaptation of War of the Worlds starring Ice Cube. This is definitely the worst film of 2025 but man we had a fun time making fun of it and discussing it.

The finale to our pilot season, Bee makes us watch his favorite film of all time, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010). What did we think of it? Find out! Sorry, audio problems agian with this episode too. We got it fixed in our next episode, I promise.

For the third episode, HappySlapp aka Jacen made us watch the infamous Dungeons and Dragons movie starring an over the top Jeremey Irons and annoying Marlon Wayans. Sorry for the Audio for this one, the software I use to record this got an update and reset my settings so this and maybe the next episode will have come people be quiteter than others.

In our second episode Mask makes us watch a made for TV movie where Ron Pearlman fights mutated baboons on an island. Who will survive? Find out in our second episode.!
