Dodong Cacanando Podcast: Insights from the Garden

At 36, Jose Feron “Dodong” Cacanando was on his way to corporate success as assistant country manager of Hewlett-Packard Philippines. Then God spoke to him and told him to go to Mindanao, the Philippines to start a farm in Bukidnon. He obeyed the Lord and helped create an abundant farm -coming from non-agricultural roots - nothing short of a miracle. Today, Dodong is a sought-after keynote speaker around the world because of his experience in merging the word of God, Business, and Agriculture. Dodong is also the author of three books. This podcast is a collection of his rare talks.

Do Not Change The World, Improve It Instead 12.12.2022

Do Not Change The World, Improve It Instead November 20, 2022 As people become successful and reach a position of influence, some take it as their mission to change the world around them. They feel it is their obligation to do so. While this is a noble desire, some would use the knowledge they gained to impose their ways on other people. Is this the proper way to make the world a little better? I...

What is Good? What is Evil? 05.12.2022

What Is Good? What Is Evil? November 13, 2022 Recently, I was listening to a debate between Matt Walsh and a transgender person. They were trying to define what a man and a woman is. Matt Walsh used biology to define them while the transgender would like to use feelings to define them. Matt Walsh said your sex is determined by the sex organ you have when you were born, but the transgender said gen...

Why Am I Here? 28.11.2022

Have you ever asked the question, “Why am I here?” Bakit ba ito ang trabaho ko? Bakit ako Pilipino? Bakit hindi akó Americano? Bakit? Bakit? Bakit? People often ask these questions when they are not happy where they are.  Sabi ni Reverend Myles Monroe, “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but to live life without a purpose.” In Psalm 8:4-6 (NASB95), David explains the purpose God revea...

Delay Gratification 21.11.2022

Delay Gratification Have you ever heard God say, “Uy bilisan nyo, kasi nagmamadali Ako!” Do you know that many times in the Bible, God intentionally delays His plans Hindi ba kaya ni God bigyan ng anak si Abraham 5 years after He gave His promise, instead of 25? Hindi ba kaya ni God gamitin si Moses when he was 40 years old, instead of 80? Hindi ba kaya ni God gawin si David na king when he was 16...

Hindi Pwede Ang Pwede Na 17.11.2022

Hindi Pwede Ang Pwede Na “Hindi pwede ang pwede na!” is an important breakthrough principle of Semilya. This simple principle is important because it affects a person’s future in a major way. How does this affect people’s lives? Will it make their lives better or worst? Most Filipinos have the attitude of, “Pwede na yan.” They do not realize that this attitude is costly in many ways. When you do j...

Excel Still More! 14.11.2022

Sino sa inyo ang gustong maging successful and rich? Do you know that this is an impractical ambition? You see, success is just a natural by-product of being excellent. And riches are rewards to those who are successful. Dapat ang ambition natin is to be excellent in every thing we do. Pero, most people feel that excellence is para lang sa mga matalino. Kasi hindi ako matalino, akala ko din noon I...

No Waste! 07.11.2022

One of the most important breakthrough principles of Semilya is a simple statement that says, “No Waste!” Sa mga training ng Semilya, we penalize people if they waste water, electricity, soap, at iba pa. Sa Moriah Farms, we penalize people when they throw garbage of any kind.  Why are we so concerned about waste? Because God did not create waste! If He did not create waste, then why is waste...

Everything Begins and Ends With Intimacy 31.10.2022

What is the greatest passion of Jesus Christ? Most people would say, “To seek and save the lost!” If this is the case, why did Jesus often leave the people who came to be healed and to hear him teach, to go somewhere else? We saw this in Luke 5:15–16, Mark 1:35, and Matthew 14:23. I believe the real passion of a man is determined by his priority. And from the verses mentioned above, we see that th...

Be A Blessing, Never A Burden! 24.10.2022

Be A Blessing, Never A Burden!  What does it mean to be a blessing? The Hebrew word is Berakah, which means to bring peace into people’s lives and to share your wealth.  Do you know that God called Abraham for this purpose? Genesis 12:2–3 (NASB95) says, “And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you,… and so you shall be a blessing; …and in you all the families of the earth wi...

You Cannot Give Away Something You Do Not Have! 17.10.2022

In John 15:8, Jesus said, “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.”  Do you know that fruits are things that come from inside going out? They are produced by healthy plants and are a natural by-product of abundance. This is where the fifth breakthrough principle of Semilya comes from: "You Cannot Give Away Something You Do Not Have!” Deuteron...

Take It In, Live It Out, Pass It On 10.10.2022

Why is it easier for people to follow fake influencers than follow Jesus? Hindi ba nila narinig sa mga kwento about Jesus or napanood sa mga sine ang mga ginawa Nya in the past? I am sure they have. Pero bakit in spite of these things hirap ang mga tao tumanggap sa gospel na shinishare mo. When you share the good news with people, what will they ask in response? Diba, “Nasaan ang proof?” And then...

Imitate Me, As I Imitate Christ 03.10.2022

To many, “Imitate me, as I imitate Christ” is a statement of arrogance. But to others, it is a very intimidating declaration. We all feel that no one has the right to say this because we are all a work in progress.  "Imitate Me, As I Imitate Christ" is one of the Breakthrough Principles of Semilya! But we do not go around imposing this statement on others. Instead, we use it to be better disc...

Do What is Right, Not What is Good 26.09.2022

When Jesus came to set us free from our slavery to sin, we stopped struggling between doing good versus evil. But it shifted to a struggle between doing what is good versus what is right. The decision we often wrestle with as a follower of Jesus is whether we will do what is good for us or right for the Lord. Whatever we choose between the two, we will still bear the consequences of that decision....

Love Your Enemy, It Is Good For You! 29.08.2022

Mayroon ka bang kaaway? If you are like most people, ang sagot is, "Oo, mayroon!" When you think of your enemies, what comes to mind, and what feelings do you feel? Have you been praying na sana God will return to them the evil they have caused you? How can you pray against them? Diba God said, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”    I thought this was the most unrea...

I Have Seen God’s Image 31.07.2022

Why did God never show Himself to the world? Siguro if He did, man would be able to make a replica of Him, whether in a picture or a statue that we can look up to. Is this true? Did God never show His image to the world? Diba in Genesis, He created man in His image and His likeness. If this is not enough, He sent His Son, whom Hebrews 1:3 described as “the radiance of His Father’s glory and the ex...

The Idol Inside You 27.06.2022

Are you afraid of idols made of wood and stones? Do you feel they have the power to influence you, kaya you stay away from them? These idols have no power over you because they are inanimate objects. But there is a type of idol that we need to be afraid of; they are not made of wood and stone but are idols of our own making. This idol is inside you. I realize that when we do not accept God as a wh...

The Pain and Joy of Submission 15.06.2022

Outside the 10 Commandments, I believe submission is the most important command God gave us. Because He repeated this  again and again throughout the Bible. I thought the worst sin a king committed in Israel was when David murdered Uriah, the husband, to take his wife Bathsheba in an act of adultery. But these were sins God eventually forgave. But when Saul did not submit to the instructions...

Who Invited The Monsters? 06.06.2022

Throughout history, monsters have come to oppress the Jews, in particular. There was Pharaoh of Egypt, Sennacherib of Assyria, Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and Hitler of Germany in the 19th century. Who invited these monsters into their lives? Recently, I saw a post expressing his concern about a ghost that raped our country in the past. He said that ghosts had resurrected to be a monster that would...

Hindi Ka Tao Lang! 23.05.2022

I believe every one of us was born with the potential to become great because we were created in God’s image and likeness. If this is true, then why are many people living mediocre lives. Most of the time, ang sagot nila is ”Kasi tao lang ako." Bakit natin parating sinasabi na tao lang tayo? Bakit nating minamaliit ang pagiging tao? Hindi mo ba alam na Psalm 8 says that man was created a little lo...

Doing Good Is Not As Important As Listening To The Lord. 23.05.2022

Do you want to do something good for the Lord by doing something good for others? How do you expect him to react and respond to your prayers when you do something good for the Lord? But, how would you feel if you do something good for the Lord and yet He does not answer your prayer? How would you feel, and what will you do? Recently, I stumbled upon Psalm 40:6. It says that the good things we do a...

Discovering God’s Will 09.04.2022

Is there a question that you ask the Lord, again and again? Ako, I always ask God, “What is your will for me?” This question can take many forms for different people. What business do you want me to start? What course do you want me to take in college? Who do you want me to marry? Should I kill my husband kasi makulit (joke only)? Has God answered you already? Or has He been very quiet? But is God...

Undeserved Suffering 27.03.2022

According to the author of the Bible version, The Message, the most painful suffering is the one you do not deserve. It is to suffer even though you have done what is right and good for the Lord. He said this is the kind of suffering Job experienced. Have you ever experienced undeserved suffering? If God is good, why will He even allow us to suffer - in any way? As I studied this issue, I realized...

We Do Not Need To Read The Whole Bible, Ha? Bakit! 21.03.2022

I recently stumbled on an article entitled, “We Do Not Need To Read The Whole Bible!” While the author gave some valid reasons, my personal experience says that it is dangerous not to read the Bible as a whole. Someone told me in the past that the Old Testament is not necessary anymore because the New Testament is enough to explain Jesus. And in the New Testament, the most important parts are the...

This Is God's Doing 01.03.2022

Is there something troubling you that has given you sleepless nights? Do you have relationship concerns that have brought you a lot of pain? Are you in a problematic situation that has made you anxious because of the uncertainty of the future? If you are experiencing any of these, let me ask you a question? What have you been asking God to do for you? Have you been asking why He has allowed your p...
