Dodong Cacanando Podcast: Insights from the Garden

At 36, Jose Feron “Dodong” Cacanando was on his way to corporate success as assistant country manager of Hewlett-Packard Philippines. Then God spoke to him and told him to go to Mindanao, the Philippines to start a farm in Bukidnon. He obeyed the Lord and helped create an abundant farm -coming from non-agricultural roots - nothing short of a miracle. Today, Dodong is a sought-after keynote speaker around the world because of his experience in merging the word of God, Business, and Agriculture. Dodong is also the author of three books. This podcast is a collection of his rare talks.

The Root Of All Evil 10.07.2023

Sabi ng marami the love of money is the root of all evil. Is this true? I have been bothered by the degradation of our values. Men wanting to become women, wives refusing to submit to their husbands, men committing more immorality, etc. Are these evils rooted in people’s love for money? I do not think so. The root of all evil is found in the beginning of the Bible in the first sin ever committed....

The Justice Of The Lord 20.06.2023

When God told of His son’s coming, in Isaiah 42, He said He would faithfully bring forth justice. But when Jesus came, He did not end the corruption in the world nor destroy the evil on earth. Instead, He died for our sins and offered salvation to everyone. Pero diba, when God makes a promise, He keeps it. If Jesus did bring forth justice, why is there still a battle between good and evil, and why...

Or, should they work together as one? But whether they have different businesses or share in one, business often becomes a source of conflict at home. Should they set a boundary between their home and their work, so that there...

Self-Control Decides Your Future 23.04.2023

Self-control is the ninth and last fruit of the Spirit. The Greek word for self-control is 'egkratia' which means mastery of self. The Hebrew equivalent means to have authority over your spirit. Why is self-control necessary? Proverbs 25:28 (NASB95) says, "Like a city that is broken into and without walls is a man who has no control over his Spirit." When the city has no walls, i...

Gentleness Means To Be Humble 17.04.2023

What does it mean to be gentle? To most people, it is to be tender, mild-mannered, and soft-hearted. The original Greek and Hebrew words used in the Bible to be gentleness means humility and meekness. Ang layo no? Gentleness is a natural trait of a humble and meek person. Today, the world teaches us to build self-confidence and not be subject to anyone, not even to God. Kasi sabi nila, meekness is...

Faithfulness Means To Stay Put 10.04.2023

I am learning that faithfulness is the key to developing all the other fruits of the Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness. And if you want to mature as a follower of Jesus, you need to be faithful to Him. To be faithful means to be steadfast and dependable. It also means to stay put even if running away makes better sense. It means living out God’s righteousness, even...

Goodness Is An Issue Of The Heart 03.04.2023

Goodness Is An Issue Of The Heart The sixth fruit of the spirit is goodness. Do you know what that means? Today the word “good” is used loosely. We say good day, good food, a good movie, etc. But what is your basis that they are good? The word good was mentioned seven times in Genesis 1. When God finally finished His work, He said everything was very good! According to Jesus, only God is good. The...

Kindness Is Not Generosity But Compassion 19.03.2023

Most people associate kindness with charitable, generous, and thoughtful people, but the original Greek word chrestotes means something different. It is to be gentle, to be good, and to be morally excellent. To appreciate its essence, we need to understand what moral excellence means. It means to do what is ethically correct. The Bible tells us to treat people with kindness, compassion, mercy, and...

Patience Is Not A Choice But A Necessity 12.03.2023

Patience Is Not A Choice But A Necessity Do you enjoy being patient? Many of us don’t. What is it about waiting that you don't like? The Greek word for patience is makrothymia, which means to tolerate, endure, and long-suffering. People do not like being patient because they do not want to suffer long. Is this what patience is all about? It is not! Patience is learning to endure because everything...

Peace Is A By-Product Of Obedience 02.03.2023

How can we live in peace when so much chaos surrounds us? Did you know that peace is a gift from God? It is something God wants to give us. The other meaning of peace in Hebrews is “rest.” Many of those who left Egypt did not find rest, and entered the Promised Land, because they disobeyed the Lord. But those who obeyed Him enjoyed the bounty of the land. I discovered that peace is a by-product of...

Rejoicing In The Midst Of Crisis 20.02.2023

The second trait of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is Joy. Many people interchange this idea with being happy. Are they the same, or different? Joy is a state of rejoicing which is based on trust in the Lord. While happiness is having an emotional high base on happenings, joy is based on internal gladness. I realize the reason many are depressed is that they are looking for happiness not joy, and ha...

Love: A Misunderstood Concept 12.02.2023

Love is the most important trait of the Fruit of the Spirit, yet it is the most misunderstood.  I have been studying the idea of love for a very long time and I have been teaching to people. Recently, I restudied the concept of the Fruit of the Spirit because I was struggling to respond to my many trials and adversities.  I realized that I do not understand love at all. I believe this is...

Work Is A Blessing, Not A Curse 29.01.2023

Work Is A Blessing Not A Curse There are people who believe that work was part of the curse God gave man after Adam and Eve sinned. This is not true because even before they sinned in Genesis 3, God told them to cultivate and keep the garden He planted in Genesis 2:15. If you study the Bible, you will find that God channels His blessings through man’s work. O the other hand, there are people who b...

Work Is A Command 19.01.2023

Work Is A Command Do you know the fourth commandment of the Lord? People say it is about the Sabbath, a day of rest. Do you know that that is just one-half of the command? So many of us have been violating the fourth commandment of the Lord because we do not take it as a whole but only in part. The fourth commandment says… 8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 “Six days you shall labor a...

The Foundation Of Wealth 10.01.2023

What are the essential factors in creating wealth? The world has many ideas about this, such as: Money Begets Money Opportunity knock once, so, therefore, grab it. To become rich, invest, do not save. Do you know that the foundation of wealth is revealed in Creation and the first chapter of the Bible? The first commandment God gave men is found in Genesis 1:28. He told the man He created to be fru...

Mayroon ka bang pangarap na hiningi kay God? Did you ask God to make you a better person, kasi may mga dapat kang baguhin? Did God answer you? Yung iba sa inyo oo, pero pang ang karamihan sa atin hindi. When we prayed lalong gumulo buhay natin. Parating kang walang pera, yung negosyo mo nag kalololoko, mas dumami ang buwisit sa buhay mo. Imbes na ibigay ni God yung gusto mo, binigyan ka nya ng mas...

Why Did Jesus Come To Be A Man 26.12.2022

Why did Jesus come to become a man? Did He have a choice? Could He have said no to His Father? Or could He have suggested another way to save us? John 5:19 tells us that Jesus will not do anything unless He sees His Father doing it. John 5:30 says He takes no initiative but will adjust to what His Father wants. The night before He died, Jesus said, “Not My will, but Your's be done!” Jesus would co...

When You Do Not See What You Have As A Blessing 20.12.2022

When you do not see something as a blessing. Many people are unhappy where they are and with what they have. Especially as they go through the troubles in their lives, they feel there is something better elsewhere. Claiming the promise of Jeremiah 29:11 that good God is a good plan for their future, they leave their comfort zone to take their chances and look for God's plan for them. Many have for...
