We all desire a world that is full of wonder, mystery and enchantment. Yet we often succumb to a mechanical colorless view of the world. But what if the Christmas story offered us the re-enchanted world we all long for?

We all have a desire for a happy and fulfilling life, the question is where do we find it? In this passage we see humanity try to find the good life apart from God.

Sin doesn't just affect us, but those around us for generations to come. Even the most righteous people still have to deal with the shadow side of their own hearts. Thankfully Jesus came to bring us healing both for our own sin and the sin done against us.

In Genesis 9 we see God make a covenant both with mankind and creation itself. This passage reveals the inherent dignity both of humanity as well as creation. Not only that it gives us a foretaste of the redemption and restoration of both.

In Genesis 8 we see the response of Noah and the response of God, revealing what humanity is like and what God is like.

In Genesis 7 lies the all too familiar Sunday school story which can stop a reader right in their tracks. But what if this story is meant to be read in contrast to the competing flood stories of that time, in order to reveal the goodness of the God of Genesis?

In Genesis 6 we see the widespread evil on the earth both by mankind as well as the "sons of God". God's response to it isn't sporadic anger, but rather deep grief.

In Genesis 4, we see the first scene of mankind outside of the garden. Right away we are confronted with the reality of sin and its consequences. But at the same time we see God working to heal sin by getting below the surface and to the heart.

(Genesis 3:8-24) What happens when we turn away from God and go our own way? In this scene, we see both the consequences of walking away from God as well as the immediate grace of God toward sinful human beings.

We all have to ask the question - what is wrong with the world? How we diagnose the problem will determine how we prescribe the solution? What if the Genesis story had a persuasive diagnosis all along?

In Genesis 2 we read about life in Eden, and learn what humankind was designed for. We were designed for three different relationships that we designated in the garden of Eden.

We are all living into a story to make sense of our lives from. In the opening pages of Scripture we find the ultimate story of a loving and creative God who creates the world and mankind not out of need, but out of love.
