Ep. 90: The Shining- PB&J Sandwiches, Fries With Ketchup, Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Milk, and 7-Up 24.10.2022 2:43:26
Take a ride with us to the Overlook Hotel and eat PB&J sandwiches, fries with ketchup, chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, and 7-Up before we discuss The Shining with our good friend Kyle. What is the meaning of everything Kubrick put in this movie? We aren’t sure we know, but it’s fun to talk about all the same. What we do know is that if you’re watching just the surface of this film l...
Ep. 89: Get Out- Froot Loops, Milk, Carrot Cake, and Chocolate Covered Bavarian Cream-Filled Donuts 17.10.2022 2:08:46
We continue our scary movie marathon this week with Get Out. We have hot tea and hypnotize ourselves into eating carrot cake, Froot Loops with milk, and chocolate covered Bavarian cream filled donuts. Get Out is a fun film to watch and even more fun to discuss, but when we wake up from being in the Sunken Place will we remember any of it?
Ep. 88: Silence of the Lambs- Lamb Chops, Corn, Peas, and Baked Potatoes 13.10.2022 1:49:26
We’re very happy that you decided to put the lotion in the basket and come visit us in our cell to kick off this year’s spooky movie marathon. We’re eating spring lamb chops, corn, peas, and a baked potato before discussing Silence of the Lambs. The excellent cast really makes this incredibly meme-able fun family film for us. Thank you, Dr. Lecter for having us for dinner.
Ep. 87: The Terminator- Sandwiches 10.10.2022 1:29:52
We eradicate some delicious post-coital sandwiches before talking about The Terminator this week. We all agree that it’s a fine film even if we don’t understand why Sarah Connor would have sex with a man that she has no chemistry with, why Terminators have real dongs and hilariously fake heads, and what a South American kid is doing taking Polaroid pictures at a remote Mexican gas station. A storm...
Ep. 86: The Goonies- Domino's Pizza, Baby Ruth, Potato Chips, Rocky Road Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, and Pepsi 30.09.2022 1:42:35
HEY YOU GUYS! This week, we eat a Chunk and Sloth size meal of Domino’s pizza, Baby Ruth bars, potato chips, rocky road ice cream, whipped cream, and Pepsi before we talk about The Goonies. This film is filled with the boundless energy of kids on an epic quest to find rich stuff. We all agree that it’s fun but may have too many dick jokes… or, maybe not enough! It gave us the irreplaceable talent...
Ep. 85: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse- Hamburgers, Fries, and Kind of a Bagel 17.09.2022 1:33:56
With a great podcast comes a great dinner with a movie and this week we talk about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse after we eat burgers. There’s no doubt that this film is one of the best superhero films ever made. Every part of the film’s story, animation, and soundtrack makes this one of the few films that we give all tens. We just hope the next Spider-verse film retains the power of this one.
Ep. 84: Midnight in Paris- Pastries, Bread, and Brie 13.09.2022 1:27:01
We’re in Paris again this weekend where we eat pastries and bread with brie and discuss Midnight in Paris. Creative characters abound in this film, but are they just caricatures of artists from the 1920s, or were they actually just a bunch of crazy characters that keep inspiring the world a hundred years later? You decide. One thing we all agree with is Corey Stoll as Ernest Hemingway makes one ve...
Ep. 83: Portrait of a Lady on Fire- Beef Burgundy and French Bread 31.08.2022 1:35:08
We’re back and on fire this week when we eat beef burgundy and French bread before we talk about Portrait of a Lady on Fire. There’s no doubt that the film is beautifully shot and the sound is exceptional, but it pales in comparison to the ladies in the film. Blake should know. He famously likes the pretty ladies. Jose is the most cultured of us and won’t be swayed by the pretty lady shenanigans....
Ep. 82: Letting Go of God- Hamburgers 04.08.2022 2:37:00
We go a little off the beaten path this week when we eat hamburgers and discuss Julia Sweeny’s monologue Letting Go of God. Julia’s talent for captivating storytelling takes us on her search for answers to some of life’s biggest questions. We also discover answers to some of our most pressing questions about self-love and whether or not we can accumulate enough points to go to Heaven one day. No m...
Ep. 81: Shrek 2- Buffalo Chicken Wraps, Curly Fries, and Sourdough Soft Tacos 01.08.2022 1:45:09
We’re joined by Tiffanie this week to eat buffalo chicken wraps, curly fries, and what we came up as an alternative to sourdough soft tacos (Jack in the Box tacos and sourdough bread) not recommended. After sipping our cups of love potion laced tea, we talk about Shrek 2. This is one of Tiffanie’s favorite films. We all have our own problems with holes the film’s story but all of us agree that the...
Ep. 80: Trainspotting- Tomato Soup, Mushroom Soup, and Vanilla Ice Cream 28.07.2022 1:36:04
This week, we continue our heroin-filled foray into film with Trainspotting. We ate Renton’s detox diet of tomato soup, mushroom soup, and vanilla ice cream which didn’t mix well in our stomachs. It’s a good thing we’re all mates and had a clean bathroom instead of the worst toilet in Scotland. Oh, baby.
Ep. 79: Requiem for a Dream- Hard-Boiled Eggs and Bagels 12.07.2022 1:50:10
We take our diet to new extremes this week. We don’t juice or do keto and we certainly don’t want to eat any nasty grapefruit, which would just make us all miserable, so we decided to eat hard-boiled eggs and bagels before discussing Requiem for a Dream. Is this film about making addicted people miserable just for misery’s sake or is there something in the story that makes the misery much more mea...
Ep. 78: Knives Out- Baked Beans, Sausage, and Biscoff Cookies 26.06.2022 1:42:43
We set the table this week with our finest cutlery to eat baked beans with sausage and Biscoff cookies before we try to keep everything down and discuss Knives Out. We gentlemanly ascertain that this is one of Jose’s favorite movies to watch while he eats milk and cookies.
Ep. 77: Clue- Mock Shark Fin Soup 15.06.2022 1:31:11
We’re aided in our unwavering search for who done it this week by watching Clue and eating mock shark fin soup only because we couldn’t find the monkey’s brains. We all agree that the film has holes and its multiple endings don’t really line up with the rest of the film, but the comedy and performances are treasures that are to die for.
Ep. 76: Star Trek: The Motion Picture- Happy Meals 07.06.2022 2:00:29
Jose seeks food in happy meals, Blake boldly goes where he has never gone before, and Brandon gets lost in the final frontier as we discuss Star Trek: The Motion Picture. There’s a lot to unpack in this pop culture film. We do our best to make your trip through the stars as entertaining as possible on a ship where no one eats, sleeps, or goes to the bathroom.
Ep. 75: Pan's Labyrinth- Grapes, Milk, Chicken, Oranges, and Bread 21.05.2022 1:57:10
We’re joined by our good friend Kyle this week to eat a dinner of roast chicken, grapes, oranges, bread, and some fresh milk; and discuss Pan’s Labyrinth or El Laberinto del Fauno in Spanish. We all agree that it’s a great film, but some of us have different opinions on what could have made it better. Jose thinks the Spanish lisp is obnoxious and hard to ignore. Brandon thinks that The Faun should...
Ep. 74: Interstellar- Cornbread, Canned Corn, Corn on the Cob, and Corn Nuts 13.05.2022 1:55:32
This week, we eat cornbread, canned corn, corn on the cob, and Corn nuts before we talk about Interstellar. Is the science sound? As long as Matthew McConaughey is talking in his sexy drawl in a film with spectacular cinematography, who cares? Love may be something that can transcend space, time, and gravity and we’re willing to believe it as long as Timothée Chalamet can act like he has some emot...
Ep. 73: Parasite- Ram-don and Fruit 09.05.2022 1:58:03
This week, we travel to a South Korean basement to eat some wonderful Ram-don and fruit before we discuss Parasite. We all agree that it’s one of the best films we've seen so far and we have the ability to smell when something’s really good. All of us struggling artists and critics can appreciate the metaphorical meanings in the film, but we may all be begging to be hit in the head at any time by...
Ep. 72: School of Rock- Turkey Subs, Pringles, Goldfish, Cheetos, Crunch Bars 02.05.2022 1:40:46
Are you ready to rock? This week’s show will melt your face off as we discuss School of Rock and eat turkey subs, Pringles, Goldfish, Cheetos, and a Crunch bar, in essence, everything from Tomika’s desk. It’s great to watch kids have fun shredding with Jack Black. If the podcast gig doesn’t work out, maybe we can make our own tribute band. Step Off!
Ep. 71: Whiplash- Popcorn, Raisinets, and Pizza 11.04.2022 2:09:08
This week we all got Whiplash from from being continually smacked in the face by J. K. Simmons. Some of us took the abuse better than others, but we all got our stuff together and made this spectacularly professional show for our wonderful fans. Nothing’s going to ruin our reputation. We’re number one. Somewhere.
Ep 70: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- Strawberries, Grapes, Cupcake, Toast, and Tea 08.04.2022 1:39:03
This week we do some extensive traveling and watch The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and eat toast, strawberries, grapes, fancy cupcakes, and have a spot of tea. We uncover probing questions and get no answers to them whatsoever as we probe deep into the heart of a film that needs more of something or may possibly be just fine the way it is.
Ep. 69(nice): Speed Racer- PB&J Sandwiches, Popcorn, and Candy 25.03.2022 1:32:10
We’re luckily joined by Corinna again this week to discuss Speed Racer for our 69th episode. We eat PB & J sandwiches, popcorn, and a variety of candy that gets us all revved up before we delve into the corporate espionage of race fixing in this fever dream of a film. Go Speed Go!
Ep. 68: Kill Bill: Vol. 2- Sandwiches 15.03.2022 1:46:03
This week we’re joined by our good friend Corinna to continue our discussion of Kill Bill with volume two and enjoy some great sandwiches from Ike’s (not sponsored). We talk about what’s up with Budd’s nasty trailer, how great Elle and Beatrix’s fight scene in Budd’s trailer is, and how different volume one is from volume two. Does Elle survive being blind and alone in the desert with a black mamb...
Ep. 67: God Said Ha!- Noodles With Red Topping and Jell-O 03.03.2022 1:50:52
This week, we talk about God said, “Ha!”, a monologue by Julia Sweeney. We ate noodles with the red topping and Jello before we discuss family death, if there’s a Heaven or not, and what we would do if we had a terminal illness. This is one of our most uplifting shows so far. Don’t miss out.
Ep. 66: Animal House- Hamburgers, Fries, and Donuts 20.02.2022 2:02:46
This week, we talk about Animal House and eat animal style hamburgers and fries and donuts for dessert. We reminisce about our own college experiences and agree that being in a frat would be too much work. The film may not be well constructed and needs a hero, but its influence can not be denied. Although many films have tried, Animal House can never be remade and maybe that’s a good thing.
