The Bible is fairly clear on what would happen to Jerusalem. Some people use it to scare young Christians today but it’s misunderstood. The new wars today is about resolving your personal faith. The conversion and baptism and what it means to us. What we do with it when stress, and yes, when real war and conflicts overwhelm us.

When I read this passage as a kid, and I knew I didn’t have nice clothes, I felt sad. Thankfully, this is not as simple as wearing the wrong clothes.

We talk about how change happens. My son devolved into a kid with doubt. That he can’t change. Ever. That’s simply not true. We miss the miracles if we doubt the change. If we doubt the miracles in our own lives. For me, it was the ability to just find a date and a ride to my prom. LOL, trust me, that was a miracle.

Adam and Eve didn’t stand a chance against the serpent. They didn’t understand consequences. As we grow older we go from thinking 5min ahead to 5 years ahead. This is how we can find peace today, planning and understanding consequences and true fruitful rewards.

It’s traumatic to see Isaac being sacrificed by his dad Abraham. What was going through Isaac’s mind? Read the words describing Jesus on the cross. The story is the same. Except in the Jesus story, there was no stopping the killing.

A lot of questions on this part of the Bible. Maybe Sarai liked being in the Haram? Back then, woman were property. Then again why the blight to Pharaoh’s fields? He didn’t know Sarai was the wife of Abram. Maybe she prayed to be free? No matter how messed up we are as people, God’s plan was the children of Abraham and Sarah will be the chosen…but how odd is this story. Gives me hope for my flawed...
