Digital Literacy in Practice: Ethical Responsibility in Early Years Education
In this episode, I critically analyse the ethical responsibilities associated with using digital technology in early years education from my perspective as a Deputy Manager in a UK Montessori setting. Drawing on module readings, including Hobbs (2017) and Hård and Jamison (2005), I explore some key issues such as student privacy, child safeguarding, digital citizenship, and equitable access to resources. I argue that it requires ethical awareness, critical engagement, and leadership responsibility to ensure that technology supports inclusion, dignity, and human development.
