Derek presents the final “let us” resolution in today’s message. It is an appropriate one as it sets a continuing pattern for us—something that we should go on doing throughout this year and on into future years as well. This sacrifice is what we owe to God—regardless of our circumstances. As Derek says, “We need to praise God most when we least feel like it.”

Why is the author of the book of Hebrews suggesting that we “go out to Him, outside the camp”? Derek explains that this statement deals with our attitude to the world. This is not our home. We have no enduring place on the earth. The world may reject us, as it rejected Jesus, but Christ has prepared a city for us.

Derek tells us today that in the midst of all that’s being shaken around us—all the threats and alarms, the fears and the inadequate remedies—we have an unshakable kingdom. We have peace, security, purpose. There can be only one appropriate response—thankfulness. “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude”; let us express our thanks to God.

In bringing us through the twelve “Let us” resolutions in the epistle to the Hebrews, Derek now comes to the ninth step. And as Derek suggests, take time to memorize these steps in order. This will help you to advance in the competition to your specific objective—to successfully run the race.

It is our responsibility to stimulate one another to love and good deeds. We should think of way to bring out the best in each other. Let’s begin to look out for the needs of others, too, placing our self-interests in the background. Jesus was a “servant of all”; let us also consider how we can reflect His attitude.

When the words of our mouth agree with the Word of God, we enlist the ministry of Jesus as the High Priest of our confession. But then we are encouraged to hold fast our confession without wavering. Why would we need to “hold fast”? Because He who promised is faithful.

Derek Prince points out in today’s message that the Most Holy Place relates to the tabernacle in the wilderness. It is the place of God’s throne. So when we draw near to the Most Holy Place we are actually drawing near to God Himself. In fact, we are invited to take our place with Christ on the throne. Listen as Derek explains . . .

Today Derek Prince points out the tremendous importance of pressing on to maturity in the Christian life. There are no other alternatives. It is wrong to believe that we can somehow “arrive” and then just sit back and relax. Take this fifth resolution to heart to continue along the path of the righteous.

The significance of the twelve “Let us” statements given in the book of Hebrews is that they are not given in random order. First we find “let us fear,” second is “let us be diligent,” third is “let us hold fast our confession.” Now we come to number four: “Let us draw near to the throne of grace.” Derek explains . . .

The word confession is described by Derek as meaning “saying the same thing as God has said in His Word.” We make the words of our mouth agree with what God has said in His Word. And not only do we say it, but we say it boldly.

The Israelites were led by God through the wilderness to the promised destination: to enter God’s rest. But most of them did not make it. Their carcasses fell because of unbelief and disobedience. The experiences of Israel are set as a pattern for us—to maintain diligence in seeking to hear and obey the voice of God.

During this week and the two following weeks, Derek uncovers twelve “Let us” statements out of the book of Hebrews. The first of these, “Let us fear,” might be considered a startling one. But the reason for it is connected to the fact that this book was written to the Jewish believers. Listen as Derek brings forth those points.

Hebrew believers had a different background than other New Testament believers. The epistle to the Hebrews is specifically and primarily addressed to believers from a Jewish background. That background gave them many advantages and many special privileges, which were not enjoyed by the Gentiles or the pagans from other nations and backgrounds. The beginning of the New Year brings a desire to change—it’s a kind of new start. But let’s not make changes that only last through the first week. Let us resolve to make lasting changes. Remember that resolutions determine attitudes; attitudes determine approach and approach determines the outcome.

Derek finishes this week’s teaching by looking at how we should respond to God’s extravagant love. Consider: What does your worship consist of? How much time do you spend with God? What can you do for His people that is out of the ordinary? If the Holy Spirit touches your heart to do something, respond extravagantly, no matter what the cost. Let Him see your love.

Derek reveals the vastness of our inheritance in Christ—all that belongs to Him is ours. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to teach us about the riches of our inheritance in Christ. As heirs of this inheritance, though, we must lay claim to these benefits and receive them by faith from the One who loves us.

Today Derek shows seven ways Jesus shed His blood for our redemption. Through various Scriptures we are introduced to the prophecies given about the love of God, and then we see how they were fulfilled. Jesus did not simply give up His few earthly possessions as a man on earth, but He gave up Himself—His own life—as the redemptive price.

Derek looks at the Parable of the Pearl of Great Value and through his eyes we see Jesus, gazing upon that pearl. As individuals, we are that pearl and we are worth all He gave for love. God’s love is individual, everlasting, it precedes time, and it is irresistible. It cost Him all He had.

Derek begins this week with a parable of how much God was willing to pay for mankind. “For God so loved the world” that He gave His only Son to die for us. He gave His treasure because He saw the immense value of the treasure He would be getting. He bought the entire field to gain the treasure that was hidden in it.

“Hope is pictured as an anchor of the soul,” Derek explains. “And it’s described as sure and steadfast and it enters in within the veil. It passes out of time into eternity. It’s fastened in the Rock of Ages in the very presence of Almighty God.” So, run to the altar when the enemy is breathing down your neck! Don’t miss this encouraging broadcast.
