Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Advent Lk 1:67-79     "In the tender compassion of our God         the dawn from on high shall break upon us,         to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,         and to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Monday of the Fourth Week of Advent Lk 1:57-66 He asked for a tablet and wrote, "John is his name," and all were amazed. Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God.

Thursday of the Third Week of Advent Lk 1:5-25 Then Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years." And the angel said to him in reply, "I am Gabriel, who stand before God. I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you this good news."

Friday of the Third Week of Advent Lk 1:26-38 Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her.

Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent Mt 1:18-25 Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins....

Tuesday of the Third Week of Advent Mt 1:1-17 Thus the total number of generations from Abraham to David is fourteen generations; from David to the Babylonian exile, fourteen generations; from the Babylonian exile to the Christ, fourteen generations.

Monday of the Third Week of Advent Mt 21:23-27 When Jesus had come into the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people approached him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?”

Memorial of Saint Lucy, Virgin and Martyr Mt 25:1-13 Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight, there was a cry, "Behold, the bridegroom!  Come out to meet him!" Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.

Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent Mt 11:28-30 Jesus said to the crowds: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest."

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe LK 1:26-38  Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus."

Tuesday of the Second Week of Advent Mt 18:12-14 Jesus said to his disciples: "What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray?"

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lk 1:26-38 And behold, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren; for nothing will be impossible for God." Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her.

Friday of the First Week of Advent Mt 9:27-31 Then he touched their eyes and said, “Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened.

Thursday of the First Week of Advent Mt 7:21, 24-27 "Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. Wednesday of the First Week of Advent Mt 15:29-37 He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. Friday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Lk 21:29-33 "Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

Feast of Saint Andrew, Apostle Mt 4:18-22 As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Wednesday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Lk 21:12-19 Jesus said to the crowd: "They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name."

Tuesday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Lk 21:5-11 While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings, Jesus said, "All that you see here– the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."

Monday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Lk 21:1-4 He said, "I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood."

Memorial of Saint Cecilia, Virgin and Martyr Mt 25:1-13 "Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour."

Memorial of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary Mt 12:46-50 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother."
