Wednesday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time Mk 4:1-20 "They are the people who hear the word, but worldly anxiety, the lure of riches, and the craving for other things intrude and choke the word, and it bears no fruit. But those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.”

Memorial of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Priest and Doctor of the Church Mt 23:8-12 "The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

Monday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time Mk 3:22-30 Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables, "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand."

Memorial of Saint Francis de Sales, Bishop and Doctor of the Church Jn 15:9-17 Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love."

Thursday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time Mk 3:7-12 Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea. Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.

Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children Lk 1:39-56 "For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."

Memorial of Saint Agnes Mt 13:44-46 Jesus said to his disciples: "The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."

Monday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time Mk 2:18-22 "Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast."

Memorial of Saint Anthony Mt 19:16-26 "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God." When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible."

Thursday of the First Week in Ordinary Time Mk 1:40-45 He spread the report abroad so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly. He remained outside in deserted places, and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

Wednesday of the First Week in Ordinary Time Mk 1:29-39 On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

Tuesday of the First Week in Ordinary Time Mk 1:21-28 Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet!  Come out of him!” The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him. All were amazed and asked one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority. He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.” His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.

Monday of the First Week in Ordinary Time Mk 1:14-20 As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Friday after Epiphany Lk 5:12-16 “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I do will it.  Be made clean.” And the leprosy left him immediately.

Thursday after Epiphany Lk 4:14-22 Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. He said to them, “Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.

Wednesday after Epiphany Mk 6:45-52 After the five thousand had eaten and were satisfied, Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side toward Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. And when he had taken leave of them, he went off to the mountain to pray.

Tuesday after Epiphany Mk 6:34-44 So he gave orders to have them sit down in groups on the green grass. The people took their places in rows by hundreds and by fifties. Monday after Epiphany Mt 4:12-17, 23-25 His fame spread to all of Syria, and they brought to him all who were sick with various diseases and racked with pain, those who were possessed, lunatics, and paralytics, and he cured them. And great crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.

Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God The Octave Day of Christmas Lk 2:16-21 The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph,  and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this,  they made known the message  that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed  by what had been told them by the shepherds.

The Seventh Day in the Octave of Christmas Jn 1:1-18 And the Word became flesh     and made his dwelling among us,     and we saw his glory,     the glory as of the Father’s only-begotten Son,     full of grace and truth.

The Sixth Day in the Octave of Christmas Lk 2:36-40 There was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer.

Feast of Saint John, Apostle and evangelist Jn 20:1a and 2-8 Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.

Feast of Saint Stephen, first martyr Mt 10:17-22 "When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."
