It's the beginning of a new year and we are starting our sessions off in the beginning of the book - GENESIS! This is where everything began and it all started with GOD!

Both Moses and Joshua gave farewell addresses to the children of Israel. Their words were to remind and encourage the people to remain with GOD. Their encouragement is still vital today. We need to serve, worship, and revere God above all, and remember to be strong and courageous. God promised never to leave us, but we must be careful to remain with Him.

There are probably many people sitting in churches today who have doubts about who Jesus is. They could be hearing the messages each week but not completely convinced of their validity. It is a commitment and choice to be in relationship with Jesus. He requests that we remain in Him because there are benefits if we do and consequences if we do not. Note, Jesus is not holding hostages or taking prisoners. He wants those who willingly volunteer. Will you remain in Him?

How does it make you feel when someone does not acknowledge or show appreciation for the act of kindness you've shown? It can be disappointing, right? Well, God expects us to show gratitude to Him for all the lovingkindness He has shown us. In this episode we will see Jesus ask where are the others who were healed. Jesus expected them to return and give thanks.

We can forget to be thankful at times. We may not recognize that we have failed to show gratitude to GOD for the kindness He has shown us. We allow pride to well up in our hearts and where there is pride there is no room for anything good.

God is due praise! We owe it to Him for all He has done and is doing in our lives. Sometimes we are unsure how to praise God. In this episode we will see a couple of ways to give God the glory due His name.

With all the turmoil in the world we can forget to give GOD the worship due Him. Despite the trouble all around GOD is still in charge and has been blessing us. During our difficulties we must remember to be grateful and tell GOD how much we appreciate Him and His mercies toward us.

This episode shows how God is able to strengthen those who come to Him in prayer. Elijah was depleted and wanted to die but once he consumed the bread from heaven he was able to continue the journey. There will be times in life when we are not at our best. We may feel discouraged and even defeated. We can become weakened by fear. We may feel isolated and all alone. When our strength is gone we must feed our spirit with the Word of God! It is the fuel needed to heal and continue the journey.

Noah is known for building the ark. He is also one who took God at His word! He did what God instructed without hesitancy. This is an example we, too, should follow.

Sometimes we think we will be happy if we get what we desire. Sadly, many times it is not the case. In this episode we will find a woman who loved a man much but the relationship did not pan out the way she hoped. She ended up with position but she did not possess the heart of the one she once desired.

Sometimes we can get so caught up in the work for God that we neglect to spend time with Him. This was Martha's dilemma. She was distracted by all the work she had to do that she missed an opportunity to sit at Jesus' feet.

The enemy uses the tactic of distraction to get us off of what God says. He started this strategy in the Garden of Eden. This episode takes a look at how he got Eve off focus.

Being distracted can lead to unnecessary drama. This happened to King David when he got distracted from his kingly duty.

Are you quiet about your identity in Christ? Does anyone know you belong to God? Are you afraid of what others will think of you because you identity with Christ? God wants us to own our identity and not to be ashamed of it. Jesus said if we are ashamed to acknowledge Him before men, He will be ashamed to own us before His Father. We do not want that. It is time to own your identity.

Every person in the world has an identity. Often we define our identity by the things we think about ourselves or the conditions / circumstances in our lives, or by the current culture. Effective communication begins with listening. It is difficult to understand and follow through with instruction if one has not heard what is expected of them. God wants us to listen to Him and in order to do that we must quiet ourselves so that we can pay attention and obey His command.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that God IS still in control. This episode seeks to encourage the listener to continue to trust God is still able to do!

It's time to decide. Whose side are you on? Will you stand with God or will you stand against Him? The decision is yours but note there will either be reward or punishment for your decision. We will look at an occasion Moses asked this question and how it relates to us today.

What is worship? Are we truly worshipping God in the manner He desires? I had this question after reading the very first mention of worship in the Bible. Based on what transpired, I must reevaluate and get in the right mode. What about you?

It is good to praise the Lord! We need to acknowledge the righteous acts God does in our lives through words and acts of praise.
