Imagine a time in the far future, and Earth is a paradise...a sanctuary for plants and wildlife. The humans are all gone, and their last act was to commission an army of robots to care for the Earth. This is the future fantasy I had in mind as I created this track. Synthesisers was definitely the best way to capture that future fantasy feel. I hope you like it.

With this track I wanted to create a "slow burn" to a big rock ending. There's almost twenty drum tracks involved, essential to getting that slow burn right I felt...and getting the big rock ending right, too! Every now and then I create some weird experimental piece...and this is one of those pieces! It I like to celebrate individuality and uniqueness, so "Be You" seemed the right title for this. I started messing with some dark synth arpeggiators in Logic Pro X and added some drums and lead synths. The title just popped into my head...no idea why! It sounded dark and quirky - job done!

We've all heard the tag line from "Alien" - in space nobody can hear you scream. This track turns that idea around, and imagines a person screaming at their own slow death inside their spacesuit...alone in deep space. Our unfortunate person CAN hear their own scream. Inspired by the excellent "Stranger Things" Netflix series, itself inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, and H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.

An unusual track, no doubt. I created the electronic backing track via Novation Launchpad, then added manually played vintage drum kit, bass, double bass and the early pizzicato strings. The remaining strings are GB smart instruments, quantised.
