Two Finger Salute 31.08.2018

I came across some cool two finger guitar tapping loops in Logic Pro X and decided to create this two finger guitar tapping tribute to the great Sir Winston Churchill. First I created the two groovy intertwined electric bass guitar tracks, added some supplementary muted guitar lead, overlaid the multiple guitar tapping tracks, and finally added the laid back beat. Enjoy. -------- This is Churchill...

The Chronicles Of Morgaine 26.08.2018

Inspired by the excellent science-fiction (with a strong fantasy feel) Morgaine series by C.J. Cherryh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Morgaine_Stories Step through the space-time gate into another world!

The Expanse 25.08.2018

I'm a big fan of the SyFy TV / Amazon Prime show "The Expanse", so it was inevitable that one day I'd create a space rock / space metal track inspired by it. Joe Miller: "So, you killed her." Anderson Dawes: "And that makes me a monster. There was no scrip to bury her, so I laid her to rest in a beautiful bauxite tunnel that we discovered together. Do you know it is possible to cry so hard that yo...

Dark Rapture 24.08.2018

Some very dark synths and a forlorn lead guitar create an anthem for those lost in the dark. Turn off the lights, and listen to the darkness. Enjoy the rapture. ================= Here's an old poem of mine you can read when you turn on the light... BLACK ON THE OUTSIDE Walk in shade, and shun the light. So dark inside, so cold inside. The ice has touched my heart tonight. They don't have to be pre...

Raven Queen 19.08.2018

Powerful and distant, the Raven Queen is in command. Her apparent coolness hides her fierce passion for that power. The two lead guitar tracks were created using ThumbJam, one with AmpKit. The rest of the music was created using BlocsWave. --------------- Art cropped from 'The Raven Woman' by the amazing Annemaria48: https://www.deviantart.com/annemaria48/art/The-Raven-Woman-2-549940691

I'm Holding On To Hope 19.08.2018

This track is about hope for the future - hope for the future of humanity, and hope for the future of our beautiful planet and all the livings things here. Initially I laid down a drummer track, designed to build as the track progresses. Then I added most of the synths, all played manually in Logic Pro X. Then I added the progressive rock bass guitar, lead guitar, and some acoustic guitar to lead...

Baking 18.08.2018

If you haven't seen the British gangster movie "Sexy Beast" with Ben Kingsley, Ian McShane and Ray Winstone...it is a classic - violent, with plenty of offensive language...but darkly funny. Watch it. The scene that inspired this track is when Ray Winstone's character Gal is sunbathing by the pool: "Oh yeah. Bloody hell. I'm sweating in here. Roasting. Boiling. Baking. Sweltering. You could fry an...

The Pharaoh Goes Clubbing 16.08.2018

A fun mix of Middle Eastern traditional instruments and Western clubbing sounds. One of my Apple loop compositions, with a couple of manually played synths.

Yuggoth, Planet Of The Mi-Go 11.08.2018

This track is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's strange Mi-Go, intelligent large insect creatures from Yuggoth. Also a source of inspiration is the artwork for Yuggoth from Fantasy Flight Games(2010). This is purely a fan-based piece of music, not for profit. It's intended for gamers and role-players exploring Yuggoth or related worlds, or anyone who simply enjoys dark ambient soundtracks.

Swamp Creature 11.08.2018

Mostly composed using Apple loops, with a couple of manually played Logic Pro X synths for a bit of fun. ------------ This track used to feature this artwork - SWAMP BACCA by DorkaboutArt, DeviantArt https://www.deviantart.com/dorkaboutart/art/SWAMP-BACCA-321581338

In Love With Nature 05.08.2018

A long track in which I tried to capture that sense of awe and humility that the natural world can give us.

The Infinite Moment Of Being 04.08.2018

There is only now. ---------- Artwork: "Ascension" - William Ismael & Carrie Mae Rose, Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/99717632@N00/10178797996/

Teenager In The 70s 04.08.2018

Feeling chilled, thinking about the 70s... -------- Pictured - Farrah Fawcett-Majors.

Mellotron Melodrama 28.07.2018

I thought I'd try my hand at some classic mellotron sounds, using the vintage mellotron suite from Logic Pro X. It's certainly a sound that takes me back. --------- Image taken from: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mellotron,_Museum_of_Making_Music.jpg

Stellar Nursery 28.07.2018

I read recently that, in our Milky Way galaxy, seven new stars are born every year. Given there are an estimated 100 billion galaxies, and the universe is expected to last a while yet, that's an encouraging thought. https://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/news/topstory/2006/milkyway_seven.html The act of creation is ongoing. --------------- I also created a track about the death of stars, here: https...

Enceladus 22.07.2018

Tiny shiny Enceladus (500km in diameter) was discovered in 1789 by German-born British astronomer William Hershell. It's the 6th largest moon of Saturn. The Cassini probe visited there in 2005. Much like Jupiter's moon Europa, Enceladus is covered in ice with a liquid ocean beneath and is a prime candidate for life in our solar system. -------------- Check out: "Enceladus Jets", NASA JPL. https://...

Delicate Art Of Survival 20.07.2018

A mixture of delicate piano loops, and manual piano/synths. -------- Patly inspired by this Image: Seedhead bw {221/365} by Chris Hawes, Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/chrisotruro/14874684752/in/photolist-oEqDxW

Hold Your Breath 14.07.2018

Just thinking about robots, AI and cyborgs. We're at the beginning of their era, but they're still very crude. Not long now, and they'll be thinking the same thing about you. All synths played in Logic Pro X. ------------- If you don't want to hold your breath, try this: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/dont-hold-your-breath

The Sands Of Time 12.07.2018

As I created this track I kept thinking of an hourglass, the sands of time, the passing of time. Hence the title. I don't know that this comes across, but I enjoyed creating it. ---------- Image (which was available for free use with modification) - http://www.pxleyes.com/photoshop-picture/4d31871c335dc/The-Passage-of-Time.html

Death Of A Star 09.07.2018

"Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t cre...

Goth Doll 05.07.2018

A rock instrumental for people who defy categories. I created the main track (bass, drums, lead rock guitar) using Apple loops then found a number of freaky guitar instruments in Logic Pro X to add (played manually), to my own satisfaction. Somebody somewhere will like it. ------------------ If you enjoyed this you might like my track "Free To Be Me": https://soundcloud.com/dacca/free-to-be-me

Akane No Mai 01.07.2018

This track is inspired by Westworld Season 2, episode 5 called "Akane No Mai" which takes place in Shogun World. Akane is the name of a Geisha (a Japanese doppelgänger version of Westworld madam Maeve). Akane is brilliantly portrayed by Rinko Kikuchi. This is purely a work of fandom, and I have no association with HBO or the Westworld franchise.

This Is The Wrong World 30.06.2018

This is the first of my tracks based on HBO's Westworld Season 2. Episode 8 - "Kiksuya" - was a stand out for me. Zahn McClarnon plays Akecheta, in search of his lost love. At one point in his search he realises "This is the wrong world."

Drama Queen 29.06.2018

Celebrating 220,000+ plays and 12,000+ downloads today (29th June 2018). I started the track with the electric bass guitars, then added various modern rock guitars, all from Apple loops. The drums are a customised Apple rock drummer track. Then I added the backing and harmony vocals, again from loops. Then I added a couple of manually played synths. All done in Logic Pro X. --------- Drama Queen I...
