Lou and Paul
Curious Brainfarts
The place where two ordinary people talk about things people are curious about. We're not taking ourselves too seriously, and we certainly don't have all the answers. We're offering a light-hearted space to think about some stuff differently. We discuss the topics off the cuff based on how the theme strikes us in the moment! It's risky, we keep in the bloopers, and it keeps us on our toes. You can get involved by dropping us suggestions at curiousbrainfarts@gmail.com. Episodes are dropping weekly.

Social Media 30.01.2025 36:51
Lou and Paul accidentally stumbled upon this vibrant topic and took a good look around, noticing the many aspects of it. It's not about casting judgement, simply being curious about they're experience of it so far. How do you use social media? How does it enrich, support, develop things in your life? Anyway, we're all off to doom scroll for a few hours as our dopamine has taken a hit....
Resolutions 23.01.2025 35:47
The third Monday of January is referred to by some people as "Blue Monday" and the resolutions start dropping off. Lou started us off down this road and we wondered how helpful resolutions really are. Unsurprisingly, it depends (as we're all individuals)! On quite a few things actually and having some self awareness around what can be holding us back or pushing us forwards is very he...
Rest 16.01.2025 35:07
We were delighted to have this sent into us by Lucy off of England, The Internet. A very detailed location shout out for her there. Anyhew, this was an interesting topic indeed and there's quite a realisation we each have which took us by surprise! Why not give yourself permission to sit down with a cuppa and have a rest. Had to make it an "E" episode as Paul let a cheeky sh!t slip out right towar...
Excuses 26.12.2024 33:55
So, what's your excuse then? This was a great conversations and we noticed the relationship to judgement and that's not all. Where does compassion show up? When we get curious about our own excuses and those that others share with us we are invited to see what's going on beneath the surface. Merry Christmas to you and yours. We wishing you much love and blessings for 2025. If you want to get invol...
Time 20.12.2024 38:03
This week we're introduced to "The Panty Sneaker" which we're pretty sure is not their real name and pseudonym. We were going to refer to them as Sue for short and couldn't be sure. Maybe we'll hear from them again soon... Hopefully they'll explain where their name came from too! Don't worry, from what we can tell it's nothing to do with underwear products. Anyhew, be that as it may, The Panty Sne...
Hair 12.12.2024 36:58
You'll be glad to know we kept it tasteful!! Check out Roscoe's curly locks! He does love a cuddle with Paul. It turns out we have a lot of experience of different hair styles and the impact they have on us and those around us. Join us for the meanderings on this personal topic to us all. We've all got a story about how hair may or may not have impacted us. Don't forget, if you want to get involve...
Self-Care 05.12.2024 24:45
Turns out, we're all rather busy and haven't readily got time without making some different choices. You'll also notice that Dizziee, Nigel and Roscoe appear at points, giving us their point of view on all things self-care. What you'll find is that they do a brilliant job of highlighting the quality of our production. You're welcome! Something we found useful was the idea of an ecology check when...
Judgement 27.11.2024 32:44
Dizziee sneezes on one of Paul's speakers... Yuk!! Oh, and judgement is a tricky subject as we discuss there's no right or wrong way to approach it. There can be less and more effective ways to it though. Fundamentally we can choose how we want to show up, and let's not forget - we often judge ourselves the harshest. If you want to get involved, drop us an email to curiousbrainfarts@gmail.com
Choices 14.11.2024 38:52
Dear listeners, today the RTG chose choices for us. We were thrilled with the choice and chose to dodge around for a while before getting stuck into the topic. Other choices include mild hysteria as well as some Dizziee farts. For the more eagle eared cerebral pumper you may notice that we sound a little tired. Truth be told we were and so don't feel bad for listening on 1.5x speed. Unsurprisingly...
Dogs 07.11.2024 39:30
We are grateful to Noah, Paul's youngest, who popped into the studio and offered us this topic. We've done animals before and not specifically dogs. We're not gonna lie to you, we love a dog, albeit couldn't eat a whole one (ba-dum, crash). Turns out we've been making friends with them for over 20,000 years and it's quite the partnership. So join us on this merry ramble as we talk all about dogs a...
Education 31.10.2024 35:35
This week took us completely by surprise because the topic just came out of nowhere! Yes, that's how it normally happens and what's different is that we didn't stop, we just kept going in stead of ask the RTG to kick in. What we know is that our educators are incredible, it's a privilege to have it available and there's lots of space for it to evolve. Unsurprisingly we all have different experienc...

Spontaneity 17.10.2024 27:20
This podcast is founded on spontaneity, and of course quantum physics as we'll explain! Lou and Paul have no idea what they're going to discuss each week and rely on their years of experience, curiosity and skills to help navigate their way through. Turns out that keeping things natural better allows spontaneity to flow! If you want to get involved, please drop us an email to curiousbrainfarts@gma...
Serial Interruptors 10.10.2024 44:43
Well dear listeners, this was a magical mystery tour of an episode! You'll be pleased to know there's a hearty pre-amble as we surf through a myriad of waves before the RTG finally kicks into action. If you're not here for the giggles, you can jump ahead to the meat and potatoes. We really enjoyed this and learned a lot about the various ways in which serial interruption can manifest. If you'd lik...
Procrastination 03.10.2024 38:03
Well, I'm sure we could have done this another day... We get curious about procrastination, how it shows up for us, how people deal with it differently and whether or not it serves a purpose. There are also a couple of little easter eggs in there for you too. Let us know if you spot them!! If you want to get involved, drop us an email to curiousbrainfarts@gmail.com!
Disruptors 19.09.2024 44:46

During our time away, we've come up with a whole load of exciting ideas to be introduced through Series 2. After sifting through the hefty mail sacks, we stumbled on an email from Alex off of Basingstoke who poses an interesting theme around "Disruptors". If you want to get involved, drop us an em...
Timeoffland 18.07.2024 4:16

Let us know what sort of things you'd like to hear more of, and what worked for you in Ser...
Feedback 11.07.2024 29:03
Feedback most definitely isn't always a gift and is something we often fumble through. We get curious about some of the aspects of feedback that are worth considering and there's a lot more besides. It's a team sport - it requires at least two people to play and the positions aren't static! If you'd like to get involved, drop us an email to curiousbrainfarts@gmail.com
Limiting Beliefs 04.07.2024 23:01
Limiting Beliefs 'ey? What the ruddy Norah is that all about then? "Something only certain people experience I presume". Not! 😂 😛 This is a universal part of being a human, so it's less about whether we have limiting beliefs, and more about how we choose to re-frame them, manage them and tell ourselves different stories. It's a lush listen - you're welcome! If you want...

Kindness 30.05.2024 33:40

Numbing 23.05.2024 21:35
This week we are talking about numbing. Wine and crisps anyone?! Tuning into and noticing how we numb, what we numb and why we numb these things is incredibly valuable. Noticing what is keeping us stuck, and sometimes we just want a bar of chocolate! Thanks as ever to our hosts Paul Dykes and Louise Perkins for their insights! If you want to send us something to get curious about, drop us an email...
Purpose 16.05.2024 35:25
What a thoroughly lovely chat and there's such beauty about this, apart from the slobbered on Kong that Nigel had. It will all make sense when you tuck in for a listen. If you'd like to suggest a topic, drop us an email to curiousbrainfarts@gmail.com
