The Tenth Mistake of Hank Hooperman by Gennifer Choldenko is a middle grade novel that shows realistic characters in a tough situation. Ideal for 12, 13 or 14 year olds. Also a good book for parent to read as well and discuss. Of course there's yummy food reference near the end of this podcast.
