November 30, 2022 - We're finishing up Acts 3, noting that Peter uses every opportunity to talk about Jesus. It's amazing to see the Spirit's work in his life, as he using OT subjects to show that Jesus is the Christ.

Living in the light of Jesus, we prepare to celebrate His birth. Repenting of our sins, we put away the works of darkness and dress in the armor of light.

November 23, 2022 - Firm Foundations

This Sunday, we are blessed to have Pastor Michael Mattil as a guest preacher and liturgist. We’ll be celebrating Christ the King Sunday and remembering our role as His children, created to glorify Him.

November 16, 2022 - Whoops! I forgot to upload this yesterday.  We're talking about Acts 3.

November 9, 2022 - As we look at the events of Acts 2, there's a lot to dig into, but a special focus on the OT prophecies that pointed to Jesus as Savior.... Also, I couldn't hold back from defending a Lutheran stance on Baptism.

This Sunday we hear God speak to us of the Spirit's completion of the goal for our life: the dazzling end or beginning of being resurrected and living forever with Jesus in heaven--no doubt about it!!!

November 2, 2022 - As we look at Acts 1:12 -26, it is interesting to see how the apostles utilize the Scriptures and band together in prayer to seek God's will.

The Holy Spirit’s work is to convict us of sin and to point us to our Savior Jesus. Though we were once dead in sin, we have been made alive in Christ, all through the power of the Holy Spirit.

October 26, 2022 - We’re taking a look at Acts 1:1-8, and it’s incredible to remember that while Christ’s work of paying for sin is finished on the cross, He continues to work in our lives through the Holy Spirit to bring us close to Him.  I know I kind of jumped from topic to topic on this one, but that’s where my devotional time took me.

Guest Pastor: Travis Hartjen Many have died for a cause they believe in. Many have sacrificed a great deal to advance a mission. Only one, however, rose from the dead to continue that mission, that cause. Come and see how the resurrection of Jesus changes everything.

It's a strange tension to hold in Scripture: on the one hand, Paul tells us that the Gospel is offensive (1 Corinthians 1:18 ). On the other, he encourages us to make God's message of the Gospel attractive (Titus 2:10 ).  As we look at Titus, we look at why we live Christian lives.

As we look at the 2nd Article of Apostles’ Creed, we reflect on the humble service and suffering of Jesus for the sake of His fallen creation.

As we reflect on the 1st Article of the Apostles’ Creed, we remember God’s gracious work of creation and provision.

October 5, 2022 - God is our light and salvation, and because He is for us, we need not fear. Though external and internal enemies come against us (Satan, the world, and our own sinful nature), Jesus has the victory through His cross and empty grave.

The Creed is a simply a statement of belief about who our God is and what He has done for us. As we kick off our series, we look at two vital descriptors of the Lord: He is Father and He is Almighty.

September 28, 2022 - The Song of Songs (aka Song of Solomon) is a unique and interesting book of the Bible. We'll take a look at 1:15 -2:2 for a better understanding.  Also, I totally forgot to include this: 2:2 is a great description of God's love for His people. He has chosen us in Christ and sees us as lilies despite our sinful thorns.

This is our third and final week of the “Gospel for All” series, and we expand upon Travis’ point last week. The harvest fields are ready, and we pray God would use us (as a church and as individuals) to reach out to the lost and share the Good News of Jesus with them.

September 21, 2022 - How many times do we lament when a Sunday is going long? How often does our mind shift from being engaged in worship to wishing it were over so we could do something else? I confess it happens to me. As we look at Amos 8:4-7, we are convicted of valuing other things above our time with the Lord.

The Harvest is ready. Who is God sending into this harvest? Where do we even begin? Pastor Travis will dive into Luke 10:1-12 and will share with us what Jesus did as he sent out 72 of his followers into the Harvest.

September 14, 2022 - Zechariah 5:5-11 is not part of the lectionary. Not many devotion books center on this passage. It details a strange vision that truly doesn't play well in today's culture. But hidden behind the bizarre imagery is the truth of the Gospel: that our sins are removed from us.

Though we are Christians, we continually need to hear the Gospel message. As we face this world and life, we find that we quickly fluctuate from the truth spoken to us. We quickly forget God’s promises to us. We often fall short of God’s commands of us. For all these reasons, we need to hear the Good News of the forgiveness of our sins. September 7, 2022 - As we look at Psalm 139:1-18, we see the psalmist describe God as being omniscient, knowing us fully. What a comfort to be reminded that He knows us and understands us. We also see Him as the One who is always with us, through every trial and temptation. Our God is mighty to form us out of nothing, to plan our every day, and to save us from our sin.

Jesus calls us “the light of the world,” and uses us to proclaim His grace and His glory to the world around us. This Sunday, we’ll see what the light of Christ has done for us (and continues to do in us), and how we are to shine that light to those in our lives.
