In Luke 5:33-6:11, the Pharisees live to serve the Law, and they fail to see how the Law was created to serve them. The result of Jesus’s coming is a new path towards righteousness. It’s not found in legalistic worship, devotion, or self-exalting righteousness – this is upside down. Righteousness is always only found in Jesus – that is what right-side up devotion to the Lord looks like.
