In Genesis 12 God calls out Abram from a pagan land to follow and worship Him alone. The call was costly but it came with great promises. In Abram we get to see a blueprint for what walking by faith looks like. 

In Genesis chapter 10 humanity decides to rebel against God in order to make a name for themselves. We see that pride was the root of their sin. What are your aspirations and dreams? Are they aimed at making much of God or to make a name for yourself? You have the option today to choose humility or one day God will choose it for you. 

After the flood subsides we see that sin makes a comeback... Within Genesis 8 we find a blue print for today on how we should and shouldn't respond to the sin's of other people. 

Can you put a price tag on human life? In Genesis Chapters 8-9 we see that God makes a covenant with Noah. This covenant shows us that God finds life and people as extremely valuable. Do you see life and people the way God does? 

In Genesis 6-8 we finally see the day of judgement come, but God makes a way for Noah and his family to be spared. The scriptures tell us that similar to Noah's story another day of judgment is coming. God has prepared an ark, the question is "will you enter in?"

One of our roles as human beings is to “image” our Creator, or put another way, to accurately represent God’s character and nature on the earth. In Genesis 6, we learn about an enemy that wants nothing more than to see that image become corrupted. We still feel the effects of this battle today, but there is Hope.

As Christian's it’s easy to feel like we don’t belong, we believe some weird things and it seems like we’re swimming upstream in our culture.  As we continue our new series walking through the book of Genesis we'll gain a greater perspective on why we feel this way.

Up to this point in the creation story everything God had made was good and living out its purpose... until chapter 3. We are introduced to "the serpent" and what follows literally changed everything. 

Did you know that God designed you and I with a very specific purpose? Nothing is ever random with our God. Who you are and what you do really matters. We pray you're inspired and equipped as we continue to walk through the book of Genesis. 

There are four main themes that make up the gospel (Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration). Two of the four themes are found in the very first book of the Bible. As we begin our study in Genesis chapter 1 we find out how everything came into being and the God who creates order out of chaos. 

As we enter another year and make resolutions, we all need to ask ourselves the question "is there anything in my life that is more important than the kingdom of God?" Let this be the year you go all in!

The message of Christmas is that good news of great joy has come into our world. This good news is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Will you receive the greatest gift of all this Christmas?

Advent is a time of remembrance where we see what God has done, what God is doing, and what He is going to do. We need this time of remembrance because we waiver… we grow weak.. We grow tired. We look at our world and see so much darkness and wonder if we are truly winning. Do we truly have hope in Jesus? Will He bring light out of darkness?

Most of our nativity scenes are filled with cute animals, a swaddled baby Jesus, wise men and angels joined together in worship, but did you know that Christmas has a dark side? The arrival of Jesus meant that a new king was coming, and this new king would threaten the rule of other kings.

When God spoke to Mary and Joseph He mentions that they were both people of faith and character. They weren't waiting to live faithfully once they heard from God, but living faithfully expecting Him to speak. Are you living a life of faith?

Part of God's plan to heal the world is the Church, but in order for that to happen the Church needs to be healthy. A healthy Church is one made up of individuals who have taken Jesus seriously at the call to "die to self". Will you risk everything for the sake of the kingdom? Are you all in?

Dallas Willard (a philosopher and scholar) said the world is “Our cultural and social practices, that are under the control of Satan and, thus, opposed to God''. Do you feel this to be true? If not, could it be that you feel more at home within the world than you do with Jesus? This is a tension we should all wrestle with. 

In the fight against our flesh, (which scriptures describes as our disorders desires) we will need all the help we can get. The good news is Jesus hasn't left us on our own to win this fight. He's given us everything we need. 

When you think about freedom what comes to mind? The ability to do whatever you want whenever you want? Ironically what the world calls freedom the Bible calls enslavement. When we act on our strongest desires instead of our deepest desires we fall victim to what the Bible calls our flesh or our sin nature. This is one of the great enemies of our souls. 

Last week we talked about coming to terms with the reality that we are in a spiritual battle. Our greatest enemy in this battle is Satan, and his main weapon is lies and deception. With such a powerful force coming against us how can we as the people of God stand firm in this fight?

There is violence and chaos everywhere you look. The world is broken and dark. It does not take long to look around and just feel hopeless. On top of all that, we face a daily onslaught of attacks. We are tired, depressed, fearful, and anxious, and often we do not know why. It feels like at times it's a struggle to keep the faith, and the thought in our head keeps spinning, "Why is this...

The church on fire is great, but that's not God's dream. His dream is for the city to be reborn. So what does it take to see revival in our communities? What must we do to see our city reborn?

James addresses the tension we will feel as christians while living in a world that opposes us. He encourages us to remember that Jesus is returning while also teaching us how we should live in the waiting. 

I believe that nothing reveals the heart of humanity more than what we do with our money. The tension we need to wrestle with is do we use our resources the way the world does, or do we reflect the heart of Christ in the way we earn and spend our money? 

Most of us are concerned with planning for our future, but what happens when worry and planning take over our head space to the point where we don’t trust Gods faithfulness or plan for our life? Our heart is that we would learn how to not worry and plan correctly!
