Creativity Wasted
Creativity Wasted is a podcast where a group of creative people get together, and we each share an idea that we're not planning on pursuing in real life, such as an invention idea that's outside our area of expertise, a futuristic sci-fi movie idea, or an evil prank idea. And rather than just letting the idea quietly slip away, we get some fun out of it by joking about it together.

Covid-Era Wedding DJ In A Box (Matt Harper) 05.02.2021 15:23
Idea: A DJ-in-a-box for a Covid-era wedding (or other social event). It'd be extremely cheap because the socially-distanced event would only have around 10 people in attendance and therefore wouldn't justify the cost of a normal DJ. It'd consist of an oscillating fan with some laser pointers taped to it, a pack of three "smart light bulbs" to put around the venue, and a Spotify playlist which you...

Idea: A home renovation TV show for the homes or habitats of wild animals (bears, beavers, birds, etc). Examples of renovations include a recliner for a sloth, "salmon on tap" for a bear, and an even dirtier toilet for a sewer rat. Food Circus (Tom Walma) 05.01.2021 6:13

Idea: An anonymous messaging app to allow disgruntled drivers to send angry text messages to other drivers using their license plate. It would instantly cause a huge spike of deaths from these disgruntled drivers crashing while trying to send angry texts. But these aren't the best people anyway. Also: joyriding in someone else's car to cause them to get woken up by angry messages; an angry message...
What I Should Say App (Melanie Gresham) 05.01.2021 13:21
Idea: An app to listen to people talking to you and come up with responses for you to say, so you don't have to pay attention if you're bored. Although, if sunspots knock out the GPS satellites, it'd be like "Cheater Christmas". Also: the intern could secretly manipulate your life to make it more interesting for the memoir Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 56 Jacqui Marpa (twitter.com/JacquiMarpa) Am...
Free Business Districts (Tom Walma) 05.01.2021 3:13
Idea: Since we have apps which can distribute information to and amongst customers, we don't really need food safety regulations and other government regulations which suffocate small businesses. We could even have "free-for-all" business districts in extremely poor neighborhoods, where residents of that neighborhood are allowed to run businesses out of their homes without obtaining business licen...

Social Media Slideshow (Tom Walma) 05.01.2021 10:46
Idea: A social media network where you don't have to scroll, you just view your wall like a YouTube slideshow. When you post, if the post is longer than 30 seconds, you'd have to make a preview for the post. The slideshow of your wall would show just the previews, and if you decide you want to watch the longer clip, you'd be able to immediately watch the longer clip or queue the longer clip. When...

Also: Maybe the combination of rain and the wind from the moving truck could clean the grill Originally from Creativity...
Temporarily Waterproof Toilet Paper (Justin McLeod) 05.01.2021 3:02

Also: friends could review your posts before allowing yo...
