Creation Speaks by Shawn Brown

Work doesn’t have to be rushed. To become a master craftsman, whatever it is that you do, you need to learn to slow down when you rush or get impatient. Otherwise, what you do isn’t fully what it could be. Visit creation speaks.com For more.

I thought I’d do a new spin on my podcast, Stories. I want to share some experiences I’ve had in life that have meant a lot to me and have been pivotal times steering my life. I share them because they might also encourage you in the creative space, your job, or wherever you find yourself. I hope you enjoy today’s episode.

In today’s episode, I reflect on my journal and the things I’ve written about the Lord. I hope you enjoy it.

Advent reminds us to look to Jesus, the Messiah, who redeems, restores, and provides. Love God, love others, and trust Him to meet every need.

Reflections on Psalm 23:1 " The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want ."

I've been reading the Book of Revelation. Today, I spent some time in Revelation 21 and 22. In these scriptures, we see a future city called the New Jerusalem that descends upon the earth. In this city and on the earth, there will be no more sin and death. There will be nations and peoples living and working in a restored world, and God will be among us. Listen as I share a few thoughts on thi...

Don't spend too much time figuring out your purpose and miss what has been given to you today. We can spend a lot of time seeking our calling or purpose to change our current situations. Right now, we are living and moving in the Lord, so seek Him and serve the Lord in whatever you do. Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV " And  whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing t...

Be okay to sit with your thirst. Be okay to stop trying to answer the questions you have on your own. You don't have to figure it out. Bring all your questions to the Lord and wait for Him. Read more on CreationSpeaks.com .

"Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s." Psal...

Reflections on Colossians 3:17 & Colossians 3:23-24 "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell foreve...

In You, O Lord, I put my trust;Let me never be ashamed;Deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me,Deliver me speedily;Be my rock of refuge,A fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake,Lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,For You are my strength. Into Your hand I commit my spirit;You...

The Meaning of Life Listen as we tackle the question, "finding purpose in life." Where do we find the answer and come to where we know we are right where we are supposed to be? That question is like a moving target. We'll discuss that and what Jesus teaches about the way of life. Listen to more here.

How do you give 100% to something that is not yours? “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Slow down. That's the word that sunk in on my way to work. We get hurried during the day trying to get somewhere we aren't as fast as possible.  That's the realization I had on my way to work this morning as I tried to get ahead of the slow cars and get past the yellow lights. The Lord put on my heart, "Slow down." ' "Slow down" took on much more than "don&...

When you see your lack, pray. When you feel circumstances will never change, pray. When you feel lost and alone, pray. When you feel like an outsider, pray. When you feel you can't get ahead, pray. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking. When you are weak, He is strong. He is patient, and He is kind. And always remember what luke said, "men always ought to pray and not lost heart."...

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1:17 Listen in as I reflect on a few verses in James 1.  "See the freedom of God in his sunsets-never a second like one of the foregone!-in his moons and skies-in the ever-changing solid earth!- all moving by no dead law, but in the harm...

What is Keeping you from knowing the Love of the Father? Lay down your load and follow Jesus. Do you know the love the Father has for you? Passages in this episode:  Matthew 16:6 "Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”  Matthew 19:17 "Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have...

"And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us." Hebrews 11:39, 40 Join me as I spend a few minutes reflecting on Hebrews 11.

"But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation." Hebrews 9:11

Then God said... When God speaks, mountains move, the dead are raised, and a new life begins. "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ." Ephesians 2:4, 5 He takes that which is formless and void and makes beauty and life. He heals the brokenhearted and gives hope where all seems lost....

God has not called us to disconnect from work and repress our natural abilities and creative desires; he calls us to be more human and expand upon what we have. We are to influence the world in our work, not the other way around, where the world impacts us.

I'm excited to kick off a new series called Through the Journal. In this series, we will be going through my journal and sharing thoughts I've written down about scripture and what God is doing in my life. God is at work, and as we will discover in this episode, He will finish the work He started in you.  The following are scripture references from this devotion. "For Zion's sake I will not h...

“But I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Behold, our King comes. "Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees." Isaiah 35:3 Are you tired and weary? Come to the living waters and drink. Come to the living city of God. Soon the earth will blossom, and the trees will clap their hands. The curse will be no more. The lame will walk, and the blink will see. We'll run through blossoming meadows, and dance in the city's streets. P...
