Cowboy State Politics

Every county and city in Wyoming gives away your tax dollars to ridiculous causes--cat shelters, business development organizations and a whole host of others.  The Wyoming Constitution is clear: government can't do that unless it's to support the poor.  But local governments, state-wide, ignore that.  A recent Sheridan City Council Meeting is a perfect example.

Ever wondered why your emails hardly ever get a response?  It could be they're sent directly to spam.  Some legislators don't see a problem with that.  During a recent Management Council meeting, senators and representatives discussed how their email system handles bulk emails.  They're response tells you a lot about their view of your participation.

Rep Tom Kelly joins the program to talk about schools, spending and his vote on HB64 the ultra-sound requirement for abortions.  Tom was one of the few legislators to vote against it all the way through.

Rebecca Bextel is running to be the Chairman of the Wyoming Republican Party.  She sat down with me earlier this week for an in depth interview.  Also, Mark Gordon chooses Bridget Hill to fill the vacancy on the Wyoming Supreme Court.

Rep Harriet Hageman joins me to set the record straight on her town halls.  The media hasn't told you the whole story of why her in-person events were cancelled.  The congresswoman reveals that there's a very good reason why.  Also, we discuss her view on Trump's tariffs.

The Cow Pie finally decided to report on the big stack of cases on AG Bridget Hill's desk.  Evidently, in Wyoming election related crimes don't get prosecuted.  And now, we are considering giving Hill another high profile job.

Is there any gold left in Fort Knox?  That's the question I tried to answer with historian and owner of U.S. Coin Capital Fred Dashevsky.  We talked about the history of the Federal Reserve and whether it matters, or not that there's any gold left.  His answer might surprise you.

Gabriel Green calls himself a Democrat In Name Only.  He joined me for an interview to talk about his comments during a Democrat Central Committee meeting that was held in Sheridan.  It's an interesting interview.

Today is the deadline for all county Republican Parties in Wyoming to have their elections.  In just about all of them there are liberals claiming to be conservative.  Sheridan is no exception.

Rep Tom Kelly was interviewed by Wyoming Public Media about the session.  One of his votes caught my attention--HB64.  Kelly claims that it amounts to a mandate which is against the GOP Platform.  I disagree.  Also The Sheridan Press has published a piece that seemingly contradicts their earlier claim.  But does it?  Not even close.

The Wyoming Democrat Party has issued a statement about Rep Hageman's cancellation of in-person town halls.  It's as disingenuous as you'd expect.  Also an update on Monday's story about the Sheridan Press.  Where most people would admit fault, the Sheridan Press doubles down!

The Sheridan Press has made a provably false accusation about the Sheridan County Republican Party.  They claimed the party had failed a legal requirement to notice a meeting.  That claim was hilariously printed directly beside the legally required ad.  This amounts to nothing less than the media's political activism at the national level

The last bill in the Freedom Caucus' 5 and Dime Plan has passed into law.  Rep Pendergraft joins me to discuss those key pieces of legislation.  The media and the other side said that conservatives couldn't govern--seems like they all were wrong about that.  Also, some hints at what I have been working on.

Guns and Babies are the two subjects that always come up in the Wyoming Legislature.  Gordon just vetoed SF196 Amendments to the Second Amendment Protection Act.  Of course, there's a lawsuit against one of the abortion bills that the governor signed.  Weird, they want it moved to Teton County.

The Democrats are just as nuts in Wyoming as they are in the rest of the country.  Multiple Harriet Hageman events have been disrupted recently by them.  Audio from inside a Sheridan County Democrat meeting proves they're planning to disrupt another event.  Also some curious comments from a 28 year old Democrat who claims to have infiltrated the Freedom Caucus.

Rep John Bear joins me to talk about the 2025 session.  It's a very different perspective than what the media has been feeding you.  There were great conservative bills that didn't get heard, there is no $1.3 Billion and lots more.

Rep Ken Pendergraft joins the program for the entire hour to discuss the session--what passed, what didn't pass.  He also talked about a very personal bill for him that is now Wyoming law.
