This week we unpack John's theology of Love as we work through two major passages from his first letter.

Due to Hurricane Fiona, we weren't able to have in-person service. Thankfully, Hannah Bartlett, our Next Generations Pastor recorded the sermon she was going to preach at Cornerstone Cornwall that Sunday. This week, she walks us through a passage where John writes about what it means to know we have genuine faith. 

John writes to his readers "so they do not sin." In these two passages from his letter, John fleshes out the reality of sin, what our posture should be towards it, and how Jesus is our hope despite sin. 

We begin our series "Love & Light" through John's three letters in the New Testament. He begins his first letter by telling his readers about his firsthand experience with the Glorious Son of God.

On our first Sunday back inside after Church At The Waterfront, we explore what it means to not "play church" but to live as a community centred around Jesus.

We moved inside this week and worked through a moment in Matthew & Mark's gospels where Jesus has an uncomfortable conversation with a non-Jewish woman. 

As Jesus was teaching in the Temple, a group of religious leaders brought a woman caught in the act of adultery.

This week at our Church at the Waterfront, we had a joint service with Center Point Church's Montague Campus. During this uniting time of worship, Center Point's Bob Gallant preached on Jesus' raising of Lazarus from John 11. 

We kick off our summer of Church at the Waterfront with our new series Face to Face: Ordinary people and their encounters with Jesus. Our prayer is that in seeing Jesus, we might encounter Him in our lives, too. This week, we look at John 1:43-51, where a man named Nathanael becomes a disciple of Jesus.  Apologies for the technical glitches and audio cutting.

God is working all things towards the restoration of His creation through Jesus and He invites us to be part of it. How can we have eyes to see and the courage to step into the opportunities God provides for us.

This week, Matthew Poole kicks off our new series on stewardship called "Entrusted". We believe that God owns everything and we are to use the things He gives us to glorify Him. What about our own stories and lives? What if God has allowed us to go through our experiences so that we might use our stories for His glory? If Jesus' resurrection from the dead didn't happen, then we're wasting our time. If it did happen, it changes everything!

We wrap up our Atonement series on Good Friday, looking at how Jesus' death on the cross removed the separation between God and humanity, shown explicitly in the barriers of the Temple coming down.

Jesus' crucifixion looked like a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Romans. Instead, Jesus' death was a victorious defeat of the powers of evil. 

The Scriptures talk about Jesus dying for humanity, as a substitute. This biblical idea has been caricatured and distorted throughout the years by over-emphasizing God's wrath and anger. How do we understand Jesus' death as him dying in our place?
