The Work of Grace (Titus 2:11-14)

As the dust settles from the resurrection of Lazarus, we find Jesus at a dinner with his friends in a scene that reminds us of the cost and devotion of true discipleship.  John 12:1-11  will provide a foil of faithful and fraudulent discipleship while reminding us that faithful discipleship means a willingness to sacrifice everything to follow Jesus.

What would you have done after seeing Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead? I don’t know about you, but I would be pretty impressed! To be sure, some were, but others actually began to plot his murder! There are many times in this life the world will leave us shaking our heads in amazement. It’s these times that we must remember God’s sovereign plan and continue to trust in him as it unfolds.

 Jesus will confront the greatest enemy of mankind head-on reminding us of the brokenness of this world and our ultimate hope in the world to come.
