Aug 3- Doctrine & Covenants 85:7-8 03.08.2021

Here, the Lord is going to use a story from the Old Testament to illustrate what type of saints we can be as we strive to create Zion. We can ignore commandments from our Father in Heaven and put ourselves at risk for spiritual death, we can criticize our leaders and try to "steady the ark" when we perceive problems or we can be the kind of saints who go to work and do what s necessary to build th...

Aug 2- Doctrine & Covenants 85:6 02.08.2021

The voice of the Spirit, often times is referred to as a still small voice. If the Lord wants to speak to us, why not shake us and yell? It all goes back to agency! Part of the Lord's plan is for us as His children to learn to hear Him and block out the noise of the world.

Aug 1- Doctrine & Covenants 85:3-5 01.08.2021

What does God want from us? Honestly, he wants it all! He wants our time and efforts, in essence, He wants our heart! But as part of our covenants relationship with Him, as we consecrate our hearts and our lives to Him, He is in a position to multiply and bless our efforts and to give us all He has!

July 31- Doctrine & Covenants 84:81-85 31.07.2021

Our Savior is completely worthy of our trust, He has proven that time and time again. As we put our trust in Him and trust that He can make more f us, then we are liften built and supported in times of growth and trail.

July 30- Doctrine & Covenants 84:61-62 30.07.2021

Elder Ballard taught that the priesthood isn't about status but about service. Today we discuss that there is no greater service than bringing others unto Christ!

July 29- Doctrine & Covenants 84:43-48 29.07.2021

Here in these scriptures the Lord invites us to "beware concerning yourselves." I absolutely love this phrase and the invitation to our Father in Heaven yo always know where we are and try to progress towards Him in all that we do.

July 28- Doctrine & Covenants 84:33, 35-38 28.07.2021

As we follow the gospel plan and receive strength and power through the ordinances of the priesthood our Father in Heaven promises us strength to the spirit and body and trust to help bring His children back to Him.

July 27- Doctrine & Covenants 84:3&19-21 27.07.2021

When we look at verse 3 symbolically and see the Lord's command to place the temple at the center of our hearts then verses 19 and 20 become even richer and more beautiful in the ordinates of the priesthood do we learn about who God is and how we gain the power to become more like Him.

Doctrine & Covenants 84:1-2 26.07.2021

What is the purpose of the priesthood. Here we learn 2 reasons, 1 it teaches us more about who Jesus Christ is, and 2 it is given for the purpose of bringing God's people back to Him.

July 25- Doctrine & Covenants 84 25.07.2021

As we begin this week's Come Follow Me block I wanted to start it out with a disclaimer to all women everywhere. Don't tune out for the week! We often far underestimate how much the priesthood has to do with us. How much power and authority God has blessed us with.

July 24- Doctrine & Covenants 82:14 & 83:6 24.07.2021

What would happen if as children in Zion, we built ourselves up and became a representation of the temple? What would that look like? How would be behave? What would we do? I believe, since Zion is the pure in heart and those who are of one heart and one mind, becoming a Zion people can be an individual thing and our pursuit to be an individual symbol of the temple can be the work of a lifetime.&n...

July 23- Doctrine & Covenants 82:10 23.07.2021

I absolutely love this verse, but I also believe we have to be careful with our interpretation of it. I have heard it said that if we just do XY & Z then we will bind the Lord and obtain the blessings that we are seeking. But what we are missing here is that the Lord sets the conditions of this covenant, not us. We don't get to dictate what the Lord will and won't do on our whim, rather throug...

July 22- Doctrine & Covenants 82:7 22.07.2021

This verse can be difficult to navigate. It can cause unnecessary feelings of guilt. However, I think it is important that we understand that Heavenly Father is only talking about 1 side of the redemption coin. The other side is grace and mercy.

July 21- Doctrine & Covenants 82:3 21.07.2021

The scripture says that where much is given much is required, but I have found in my life that the opposite is also true, maybe even more often. That Heavenly Father requires something of us, and as we do our best we are often amazed as we watch His tremendous blessings poured out on us!

July 20- Doctrine & Covenants 82:1 20.07.2021

Less than a month after a mob drug Joseph from his home, tried to kill him and left him for dead tarred and feathered, an incident that left one of his twins dead from the exposure to the cold, and some of the churches top leaders of the day butting heads, and struggling to get along the Lord begins this revelation by teaching them the importance of forgiveness.

July 19- Doctrine & Covenants 81:5-7 19.07.2021

Yester we covered these same verses talking about how important it is to reach out and bless and strengthen those around us. Today we will talk about the importance of blessing and strengthening our leaders through sustaining them in faith.

July 18 Doctrine and Covenants 81 18.07.2021

In our lives, in our stewardships, and in our relationships God would have us love, strengthen succor and bless His children.

July 17 Doctrine & Covenants 79-80 17.07.2021

Today we talk about what true gratitude is. If you wok up tomorrow and everything you thanked Heavenly Father for in your prayer tonight was gone, would you still thank and praise God? Elder Uchtdorf tells us that true gratitude is about being grateful in any circumstance.

July 16- Doctrine & Covenants 78:17-19 16.07.2021

In these verses I feel like Heavenly Father is desperately trying to reach us and show us all the things that He has in store for us as we are willing to follow Him. We are "little children." We can't know or begin to comprehend all the things of eternity. But He does, because it is all in His hands, and as we let go and follow Him, all that He has will be ours.

Doctrine & Covenant 78:8-10 15.07.2021

The Lord commanded His saints to organize a storehouse clear back in section 42, and it still hasn't happened yet. So here when giving Joseph the command to organize the storehouse as well as the printing press he also gives Him the command to counsel with the saints on how to accomplish it! I love this pattern in the Lord's church. It is never supposed to be one person doing it all alone, rather...

July 14- Doctrine & Covenants 78:2 14.07.2021

After being knee deep in John's revelation and all the second coming, not quite feel good symbols that he studies there, it would seem that Joseph's mind has gone to the preparedness of his people. Temporally, he gets specific on how to set up the bishop's storehouse, but then, even more importantly, he is concerned with how to get the doctrine into the hands of the believers. When it comes to our...

July 13- Doctrine & Covenants 77:2-4 13.07.2021

In Revelations John sees 4 beasts each with 7 eyes and wings before the throne of God worshipping Him. Joseph wanted to understand why they had the eyes and wings and the Lord let him know that the eyes represent the light and knowledge the animals had and the wings represented their agency to choose. I love what this teaches us. These animals with all the wisdom and knowledge and with the ability...

Doctrine & Covenants 77:1 12.07.2021

Today we learn even more about revelation! What the "Sea of Glass" teaches about revelation in the eternities, and what we can learn from the fact that Joseph pondered on this scripture for 11 years before finally gaining the bigger revelation and understanding.

Doctrine & Covenants 77 11.07.2021

One of the greatest lessons that we can learn from the Doctrine and Covenants, especially in this section and in section 76, is that scripture study and pondering can lead to revelation! As we study the scripture and ask questions as we go, we can receive revelation for our lives and our challenges.

July 10- Doctrine & Covenants 76:70&79 10.07.2021

If we remember nothing else about section 76, I hope we can remember that it reflects the love of a merciful God more than any other teaching in Christianity! A loving Father in Heaven who is anxious to bless all His children with glory and to bestow upon them resurrected vessels of light, glory and joy!
