In a world where not believing in a higher power has almost become trendy. How can we know and maintain faith in our Heavenly Father?

The Plan of Salvation is know by a few other names, the Plan of Happiness and the Plan of Redemption. No where, ever, is it called the Plan of Perfection. Part of our Father in Heaven's plan was the need for us to be humbled and faithful and to call on the REDEMPTION of Jesus Christ.

Today we learn what the Lord can do for us through His titles of Redeemer and Deliverer. 

We hear all the time that that "He is risen" is the most joyous and hopeful phrase ever spoken, but have you really stopped to wonder why? Today we talk about the power that comes into our lives as we take the time and effort to really ponder the atonement of Jesus Christ and the Love of God!

In this revelation I believe that Joseph is beginning to see the inclusivity of God's plan for His children. He sees that Heavenly Father isn't looking for reasons to keep people out, but for ways to bring them in!

In this vision that Joseph Smith has of the Celestial Kingdom we get the opportunity to get a glimpse into the eternal glory that God has in store for those who are willing to be refined by Christ. 

Imagine what it must have been like for the saints as they waited to see what would happened to the church after the prophet Joseph was killed. 3 years later a new revelation is given, what a joyous event it would have been to know that the heavens were still open and that God was still leading things!

Joseph Smiths innocent blood was shed by conspiracies and those who would seek to destroy Joseph. And even though they killed him, they continue today, the adversary continues to conspire and try to tear down truth at every turn.

We have spent the year coming to know Joseph Smith more, but what about his brother Hyrum that was killed along side of him? Before we jump into the announcement of the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum, I think it is important to understand how we got there. Things in Illinois had been relatively peaceful up until this point. Today we talk about how things took a turn in Nauvoo that lead to the martyrdom of Joseph.

As we continue looking for what the Lord would have us do to prepare for His coming we see His counsel to be made clean, (notice the word there is clean not perfect.) And to leave Babylon behind and "look not back." I love the emphasis on not looking back to our sins and lamenting what we feel like they can offer us, rather we look forward to the future with faith in what the Lord can make of us!...

Remember, the Lord is asking His saints to Hearken and to hear and understand the things that they can do to prepare for the Savior's 2nd coming. The Lord starts out the revelation in section 133 by telling us all to hearken, to LISTEN UP! And then he goes on to teach us about His second coming and what we can do to be prepared. The Lord is giving the saints a new covenant to follow.
