Coffee with Coaches

I shared a Diet Iced Tea with Brian Subich. We talk about his upbringing in the West End of Johnstown, his later athletic career in high school and college and what got him into coaching.

Brandon Bailey joins the show!  We talk about his playing career at Forest Hills, WVU and UConn as well as the path that led him to an accomplished career as Head Coach of the Richland Rams.

Fellow ‘94 Trojan Missy Thomas (Metzgar) joins the show to talk about how she got into volleyball and running. Fun fact: she’s run a half marathon in all 50 states!

Tom Fleming joins me again to kickoff Season 2 by taking a look back at some highlights of our Season 1 episodes as well as a look ahead to what’s in store for Season 2!

Tony Obarsky joins the show to take about his time playing and coaching both volleyball and hockey. Additionally we talk about his 33-year career in education, most notably at Forest Hills High School

Former Johnstown and Richland softball coach John Ahlborn has a beverage with me. We talk about his growing up in the West End, shared experiences as football teammates and school classmates and his time coaching softball in the region.

Our area lost a giant recently as Forest Hills’ Don Bailey passed away. Tom Fleming and Mike Mastovich join me to discuss the impact Coach Bailey had on the area.

Sam Zambanini joins the show. We discuss his long career as a player and coach at Conemaugh Township and the Johnstown Junior League.

Tony Penna Jr is back as head coach of the Johnstown Trojans’ football team and sits down for a cup of coffee with me and talks about his journey

Please enjoy the inaugural episode of Coffee with Coaches. I talk to Tom Fleming about his upbringing which led him to an impressive career both in academics and athletics.
